I would stay again. The hotel and room were clean. Housekeeping was polite, friendly and efficient. The common areas are showing signs of wear and need to at least be repaired it not replaced/redone. Breakfast was decent and the fresh Dunkin' Donuts brought in from across the lot are a welcome addition to the normal fare. They also did a great job keeping the breakfast stocked and there were slightly different items available the 2 days we were there. The only real annoyance is having to visit the front desk for sheets/blanket for the pullout, they were not kept in the room. Other than that a nice place to stay and I'll repeat, I would stay again!

Thank you for taking the time to generate a review of our hotel. It is so nice to have our employees recognized for their friendliness and helpfulness. In this day and age when all hotel are offering the basic same amenities it is our employees who set us apart from the competition. The items you mentioned of concern are being addressed both locally and by our ownership. Again thank you and we hope to see you again soon.

This property is really showing its age. The carpets in the hallways are coming up - causing people to trip, dirty and stained. The room was old with dirty marked up walls, mildew on the shower, blood-like stains of the floor (see pics). My daughter's volleyball team was staying here for a weekend tourney so we wanted to stay with the team; otherwise I would have left because $100/night for this place in South Bend is ridiculous. The only positive thing was that they had Dunkin Donuts on their otherwise nasty "free" breakfast. Do not try the "eggs". Not sure what those yellow pellets were!

Your comments are important to us. In regards to our hallway carpeting and walls we are awaiting the funds to be released for this project as they are on our capital expense list for this year. Our brand standards limit us on the type of egg items we can rotate in and out of our menu, we do our best to produce a breakfast in a limited service atmosphere. Our choice of Dunkin Donuts as well as our breakfast meats and hot and cold cereals and fresh waffles and fruits and fruit toppings. Yogurts, cold and hot cereals, juices and coffee offer a nice selection. Other than scrambled eggs we rotate egg patties and cheese omelets as well as scrambled eggs with diced ham.

I've stayed here a few times already for my business travel and it is always a pleasure. The hotel is clean and comfortable with large, spacious rooms. The beds are comfortable and I always manage to get a good night's rest here. The hotel offers a free breakfast in the morning, which is standard fare food for the choice hotel chains. Conveniently located in the parking lot, however, is a Steak-n-Shake which I believe is open 24 hours. There is also a Jimmy Johns and a Dunkin' Donuts (which is my weakness... gotta have the coffee!) The hotel is a little ways from the airport, but they offer van transportation, which takes approximately 10-15 minutes. The staff is always helpful and attentive and I have yet to have a poor experience at this hotel. Keep up the great work!

I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews. Yes, some of the hotel could use some updating (the hallway carpets and wallpaper) but on the whole for the price, this was a very pleasant and quiet stay. The bed was very comfortable and I especially liked the choice of soft or firm pillows, ( a too firm pillow can ruin my sleep), and the rooms appear updated and very clean. The other thing that was impressive about the room was the desk area which had a very comfortable chair which could easily be raised or lowered to suit your height, and the inclusion of a smaller pull out desk under the larger one for those of us who are shorter in stature. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the lady in the breakfast area, where the food was the normal fare, yet fresh and tasty. The only sour note there was the obviously powdered scrambled eggs. They made up for that though with refrigerated hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit. All in all a pleasant visit.

Room Tip: We were on the fourth floor and it was very quiet. The airlines book their pilots and flight attenda...

Had a night out with my wife and stayed at the Comfort Suites in South Bend. It was about what you would expect...a basic simple suite for a fair price. Our room was clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The staff was accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was above average for a Comfort Inn. A couple items I was not happy with - #1) the billboard for this hotel that is on the expressway right next door says "New Rooms" - the room I was in was definitely not new, so I'm not sure which rooms they were talking about. Our room had broken floor tiles in the bathroom, a hole in the bathroom wall, a bent towel bar, and shower/tub caulking that looked like it was put in years ago by someone that doesn't know how to caulk. Nothing terrible but I guess I expecting a little better room after seeing the billboard. #2) we had about an inch of snow overnight while we were there and the snow plow woke me up 3 different times throughout the night pushing snow, and I was on the top floor so one would think it wouldn't have been quite as noisy up there....I'm not sure why they couldn't wait until a reasonable morning hour to plow. There wasn't that much snow.

We certainly appreciate your comments concerning your stay and will pass the comments on. Yes, that billboard is a bit dated as our rooms were updated in 2011. Concerning the snow plow issue we try to keep our lot open at all hours and sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. We will certainly address the timing issue with our service provider. We hope to see you in the near future where we can exceed your expectations.

This hotel was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. When we got to our room the toilet was not even attached completely to the floor. The whole toilet moved every time it was used. The shower had caulking that was falling off and even the part that was "repaired" was done very poorly and the drain plug would not stay up so the tub filled with water. The beds were not very comfortable. The condition of the room was not worth the cost of the room.

When a complaint was filed with management there was no resolution. I would never stay there again.

Room Tip: Don't stay at this hotel

In reviewing your comments I am sorry to hear your were dissatisfied with the condition of your room. Sometimes things slip thru the cracks but in checking the toilet we found that it was secure to the floor but that the seat was loose. In checking our maintenance log we found no reports of any abnormal conditions until after check-out. Any maintenance issues brought to our attention during the stay are handled in a prompt manner. As you can see from most of our reviews this is not the norm for this hotel. We hope that at some point in the future you will give Comfort Suites another chance.

A little south of town but very clean and the day time staff very accommodating. Nice little pool and meeting area. Evening staff thought our group was a little loud before 10pm. Quiet night and comfortable bed. We had the King with a pull out. Lots of space in the room.

Room Tip: Not much of a view from any room

Thank you for your kind comments. As far as the evening noise we just try and look out for other guests in the hotel but leave room for flexability.
