An excellent place to lose track of time. Tom and Alice are great hosts. Within walking distance of the Museum complex and the downtown area.

Tom and Alice are warm wonderful people and are in the right profession.
We felt like welcome family in their home. The yard and home are conducive to quite comtemplation and solitude; it feels miles away from the downtown area, yet is an easy 6 block walk.
Also an easy walk to the Studebaker museum and walks are necessary as Alice is a fantastic baker/cook and the breakfasts are outstanding!

The carriage house was perfect for our family group of four adults, a private retreat where some of us could turn in early for a peaceful sleep, and at the same time others could stay up late and talk, while enjoying beer chilled in our own refrigerator. In the heat of the summer, the screened porch provided gentle breezes in the early morning and evening hours, with a pleasant view over the lush gardens. Breakfasts in the main house were delicious. Innkeepers Tom and Alice, friendly yet not intrusive, set just the right tone for diverse travelers passing through South Bend. We loved the combination of "homey" bedrooms and modern, spacious bathrooms. We have tried several b&b's in the city's historical area, and are so pleased that we have now found a favorite to which we shall definitely return.

The Oliver Inn was a spotlessly clean inn. The butler's pantry was convenient and well stocked with a variety of drinks and snacks. The breakfast on both mornings was delicious, plentiful and well presented. We enjoyed the fresh fruit and warm cinnamon rolls. The innkeepers accommodated our request for an early breakfast on one of our mornings. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The grounds are well kept and beautiful with places to relax and enjoy nature. We have visited many B&B's, and we will stay here again.

Overdue for some time away, my wife and I visited the Oliver Inn for the first time. The cleanest B & B we have ever visited and we have been to many. The breakfasts were elegant, but simply delicious. A friendly atmosphere, helpful but not imposing innkeepers and a wonderful escape from the humdrum. We'll be visiting again.
