“great hotel”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

suites were very clean, breakfast was good. There was a lot of people there the weekend we were there, so it was hard to find a seat to eat. Staff was very friendly. Our room faced a backside of a neighborhood. It wasn't greatest view. It was very hard to get to the hotel if you were going southbound on highway 41. Thank goodness for GPS.

Room Tip: choose an even number room

Front desk staff and all the hotel staff were professional and courteous.
The room was nice and well designed.
The room was quiet despite being located near major highway intersection.
The facilities were clean and it appeared the property had been recently renovated.
The breakfast was good and presented well.
The common areas and pool area were clean and pleasant.
The best mid-range hotel I have stayed in.

Room Tip: We stayed on 3d floor.

This hotel completed a top to toe renovation last summer. It is a standard 3 story Fairfield with indoor pool and small exercise room. They have a hot breakfast featuring scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles and oatmeal. Brad on the front desk is a journalism student and is one of those people who went over and above "just doing his job." Some of the nifties in the renovation include a roll out work desk in the room for your laptop, flat panel TV, a wooden recessed, built-in unit that includes a closet and shelves with microwave oven, coffee maker and fridge. There was a shelf at the back of the tub for shampoo, conditioner and the various potions you take with you into the shower. There was also a cute ottoman that stored under the dresser unit. The breakfast area included a central green group table with outlets for laptops and smart devices. Marriott calls this their "Farm Table." My only gripes were lumpy scrambled eggs the morning I was there and an unshoveled, snowy sidewalk along the east side of the building.

Comfortable room in quiet area off I-70 West. We were upgraded to a Suite Room upon arrival due to the lack of a King Room which we were guaranteed. While the room, 215, was adequate for a one night stay, there was a strange musty odor which never went away. The bed was very comfortable. Annoying bathroom fan which would not go off because it was connected to the light. Breakfast was very basic, and they ran out of sausage. The server was very gracious to ask if there was anything else we needed before she shut down. Comfortable stay if you're passing through.

Don't use the toll number. I was told I would have two rooms with a wall between. So I paid for this. When I found out it was just one king size room I couldn't cancel as my reservation was with an outside service. Otherwise the woman would have given us two rooms to make up for it. She said there was no suite. The man I talked to on the phone was probably from a foreign country far away and did not know about the rooms. Other than that the motel was nice and clean.

Room Tip: Call the local number.

Dear Vanwormer,
Thank you so much for your review and for bringing this to future guests' attention. I'm terribly sorry for the negative experience you had with your reservation. Unfortunately, we have very little control over third party sites, and therefore are usually unable to fix any problems that arise with those reservations. It is always safest to either book through our website, or to call the hotel directly with any questions. Once again, I'm sorry that this happened. If you need any help with future reservations I would be happy to assist.

Sincerely,
Ryan W.

We were in town due to a family members stay at a local hospital. We typically stay at Marriott brand hotels whenever we travel. This Fairfield lived up to what we've come to expect from them. Front desk help was courteous, polite, and greeted us with a smile. We had a clean, well lit room with the usual comfortable bed and great furnishings. Very well appointed. Breakfast was good with great variety of items. We requested a little later checkout time due to the hospital stay and were happily accommodated. The only complaint is that it's difficult to find the entrance at night. You can either enter the parking lot from a neighboring hotel's parking lot or from an unmarked drive off of Margaret Ave. that appears to be an alley at night. The drive is right up against another business. We would definitely stay here again!!
