On the 'rive gauche" of de Schelde river there is lurking a pleasant surprise for your pallet. The name of the restaurant suggests exactly what their philosophy is... a chef and his wife serving their honoured guests. I would be selling them short just to say it was ok. It was better than ok... it was refined and original, without being experimental. The taste of tradition combined with a refreshing point of view. Some Oriental influences, regional products an seasons goodies on a plate that is well ballanced and generous. I'm not a wine expert... however my dad is... and he couldn't but compliment our lovely hostess... the lady of the house... on their original yet affordable choice of wines. This place is defenitely on my agenda "again" for the comming year. Oh yes... they have an astonishing lobster dish.... ask for it!

It was our first time at Chef's Table and for sure not the last time. Excellent food, very friendly service. The only negative thing the evening we went, was that there was 2 big groups and there was a lot of noise. Luckily it did not influence the quality of the food :) The lady of the house even appologised for all the noise when we left.
Anyway, fantastic place to go to !

We visited the restaurant on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant was therefore filled to the brim. Yet, the staff and chefs were able to provide us with top service and amazing food.

Service was friendly and professional and although the restaurant was full with patrons, everything was done with a smile and seemingly unhurried leaving us very happy and satisfied.
Food was amazing with everything done to perfection. Our table took the fixed menu and included the soup which was worth every sent charged. Most possibly the best I have tasted in a while and presented in a very interesting way. The Makriel, done in three ways was also extremely tasty and again presented in a very special way. Portions big enough to satisfy every one. Full marks for the food!

Good selection of wine and of top quality. After the meal we enjoyed some Gin and Tonic since the establishment had some Scottish Hendrick's Gin. The drinks were perfection in a glass being served with a bit of ice, cucumber slices and a stick of rosemary.

Apart from being a bit noisy due to the large number of people, several being in one group and therefore louder than normal tables, the evening was fantastic and begging for a repeat. When the weather is better it is also possible to sit outside on the terrace which would be terrific. During our visit it was however a bit cold to sit outside and everyone had to be fitted into the restaurant itself.

A restaurant well worth visiting.

We went for dinner on a busy Saturday evening with a party of 4. This was our 3rd visit and the quality of the food and service clearly went "crescendo". Our first time some years ago was just so so. I didn't write a review then but I do remember that we found the menu quite uninspired. Our second visit, about six months ago was a lot better. The prix fix menu was well balanced and the accompanying wines were well chosen.

On our last visit we chose different things from the menu and everything was super! I had the goose liver as a starter (delicious) and the other people of our party had the scallops which they found perfect! My main course, the sweetbread must have been the best I ever had and the duck breast of the others was cooked just to perfection. The wines were not unforgettable, but definitely better than average.

I would have had no trouble giving it the absolute maximum rate, only on serving the Irish and French coffees, things got mixed up a bit. Nothing terrible, just the only little flaw that prevented our dinner from being absolutely perfect.

Prices are reasonable as the quality of the food is outstanding. Except for the one mix-up, service was impeccable and extremely friendly! I've eaten in lots of places in Antwerp-city, but
this restaurant was one of the best I visited! We'll definitely be back!
