I just got back from the "Looking Forward" exhibit and it was well worth it! If you have interest in architecture and the future of Cedar Rapids go see this exhibit. Best of all, it's free!

Cedar Rapids was the heart of the Regionalist movement, and the home of Grant Wood (of American Gothic fame). This museum houses the largest single collection of his art.

It's a small museum, and also features other regionalist paintings (although I was diapointed to see they didn't have any of my favorite Regionalist's work, Thomas Hart Benton.

They also have a nice collection of glass art, and roman statuary.

Expect to spend a couple of hours, price is $10 per adult and they are a part of the museum membership reciprocation program so if you are a reciprocal member of your local museum chances are good you will get in to the CRMA at no charge.

While they have a strong collection of Grant Wood, they also have a variety of other prominent artists with a concentration on early 20th century American art. The facility is beautiful as well.

Definately worth a visit if you are in the region.
