My fiancé has Czech heritage, so this was fun to go see the exhibits. I enjoyed the artwork and the gift shop. I think my favorite items were the blown glass pieces.

Well worth the visit. Although most of the exhibits tend to emphasize rural/folk customs, costumes, etc., what really stands out is the very large "Faces of Freedom" area, which covers the period from 1919 to 1992 and liberation from the Hapsburgs, the Nazis and the Soviets. Nicely designed, with well-done multimedia and artifact presentations. Very helpful staff at both the information desk and the tasteful gift shop.

We put this on our "must see" list for our visit to Iowa when we were there recently. The museum did a fantastic job of putting the displays together and rebuilding especially after the devestating floods in 2008. The museum did not disappoint and I would recommend it for everyone to visit to learn about the history of the Czech Republic.

We were able to travel to the Czech Republic in 2011 and the musuem brought back memories and highlighted things that we observed and experienced in the Czech Republic. We were only able to spend a few minutes in the library but found out that it does have quite a bit of information especially if one is looking for geaneology information.

We highly recommend the National Czech Museum to everyone and will definitely return in the future for another visit.

This place is really well done. A lot of history and a chance to learn something about our Midwest history other than cowboys and Indians.

If you've got the time, plan on spending a few hours visiting the museum!

The National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library is a gem of a small museum that explores the heritage/history of the Cedar Rapids population. We were there for a wedding and wandered through the museum. We will certainly return.
