Residence Inn Cedar Rapids

We stayed the Residence Inn in March and we loved it so much, we returned in October. Breakfast and Manager dinners are Excellent! My daughter is pretty picky and she ate everything. The rooms are very clean and quiet. Once in a mile a dog downstairs was heard barking but what hotel does not have some noise? Anyway, didn't bother us. Service was great and friendly. We would definetly recommend and stay their again.

Room Tip: We were on the 2nd floor each stay and it worked out for us.

We stay almost a week while visiting Cedar Rapids on business/ vacation trip. We arrived after 3 days on the road very late at night and were received by a smiling front desk lady. Very quick check inn, spacious and comfortable rooms, equipped with stove, full size refrigerator, mini kitchen. Bed was really comfy and so the sofa bed for our little one. Conveniences such laundry room, warm pools (12 inches of snow outside and a nice hot pool and jacuzzi inside!). They breakfast was great, nice variety of fruits, fresh yogurts, pastries, fresh fruits, bread, cereal, eggs, served in a cozy room. Few evenings on the week a free dinner is served and it was very delicious! Fresh cookies towards the end on the day were very welcoming. Front desk went well above to meet our needs when our truck got stuck on ice! Housekeeping was impeccable !! Very good experience and I definitely recommend!!

We stayed at the Residence Inn for 7 days and enjoyed our stay. the breakfast was great with the option to use a takeout box and take it back to your room if you wanted. The dinners were good and a nice way to not have to go out to a restaurant after a day of work.
we would most stay here again. The pool area had quite a heavy chlorine smell, so we did let management know that. We do enjoy the Residence Inn experience.

I'm not sure I could have asked for a nicer, more clean room, with such friendly, professional staff - hotel was nicely updated and the staff obviously took a lot of pride in their work. We stayed for a holiday party for our company, and it was very convenient. We will definately be staying there again next year, thank you Residence Inn!!!!!!

We were at a loss as to what to do when we found the hotel that we had booked was not going to work for us. (This is being kind.) We then went to other hotels in the area and actually looked at accomodations. The Residence had what we needed: a clean, large 2-bedroom suite. There were 7 of us, 4 generations who met halfway between Missouri and Wisconsin so our granddaughter and great-grandson who visited us from NC (her husband is deployed in the Middle East) could also see her Mom and family. The suite had a large living space including a kitchen with full-size refrigerator and microwave, stove with oven, a dishwasher and dishes. There was plenty of room for all of us at the table for games and seats in the living room area for visiting. There was even room for the brio train set we brought for our great grandson and his auntie. The sleeper sofa was very comfortable. The living area had a fireplace that we did not use. Both bedrooms had ample space, televisions and comfortable beds. We enjoyed the swimming area which was not hot and steamy like the one at the first hotel. They also served breakfast which included eggs, meat, potatoes and make your own waffles. Our only suggestion is that additional effort could be made to keep the food hotter. The employees were friendly and very accomodating. We were there over Labor Day weekend so are extremely thankful that it was available. And it only cost us $72 more than the original hotel for the entire stay. We are also thankful that the original hotel allowed us to cancel our reservation.

Room Tip: If you need a suite with more than one bedroom, asked for a two-bedroom suite.

We stayed here on July 26, 2013 when hotels in Iowa City did not have vacancies. It was a little farther from the things we wanted to do in Iowa City, but it made up for it in comfort. This is a very nice, large hotel room for a good price, 99 dollars a night. There was a bedroom room and a sitting room, and both were clean and well appointed. Sheets and linens were new and clean. The breakfast bar is free, and decent food. The pool was clean if a bit strong in the chlorination, and the hot tub had a device that made it handicap accessible - not something we used, but it was good to see it. Did not use room service, so the rating below should really be "NA- not applicable."
