Dear Jim, thank you very much for the kind words of appreciation of our efforts to serve the travelling public. We promise to keep it up and happy travels to you.
This hotel was dirty (huge dust bunnies behind the bedside table, crusty pizza sauce on the remote), things were broken (toilet, heating/cooling unit, TV), staff went out for a smoke break while on duty. Hot food on the breakfast bar looked disgusting. Got checked into a room that was already occupied.
Dear Sherri, on behalf of myself and my staff I would like to apologize for the bad impression we have made on your group. We checked into all your comments and have since not only remedied all the faults but also found where our system failed and implemented procedures to avoid it in the future. In short, circumstances caused that room to be missed when spot checking after a new housekeeper cleaned it. Inexcusable, I know, but unfortunately we are guilty as charged and would once again apologize for the bad impression.
In our breakfast we take care to present the foods in an attractive, appetizing, manner and our breakfast attendant always is present to maintain that so I am not sure what you are referring to as disgusting, perhaps the selections were not to your taste?
In regards to smoking, I agree, it is always a bad impression to see an employee smoking while on duty, especially in a non smoking hotel such as ours, and we have implemented strict regulations against it...but, like all humans some of us give into our habits at inappropriate times.
Once again, we take your comments very seriously as they reflect on our service and our effort and have changed and strengthened our policies so we may not leave such impressions on our guests.
obviously the management is a reflection on what the staff will be like. He must treat them bad and the maid did the same to us with our service dog. But, once the manager left there was a nice young man at the front desk who you could tell was not will to treat people like he does.
Dear Ann, I am sorry that your impression of me and my hotel was as you described but if you chose to use this public forum then let's present all the facts. It is clear that your predominant concern is your dog and your comments were all relating to that. When you arrived after a long day of driving I had to cover with you our dog policies at check in. In order to accomodate both dog lovers and regulars we had to set certain rules and guidelines. They are all spelled out in our dog policy and that is the document I asked you to sign at check in. It stipulates, among other things, that at no time can the pet be left alone in the room. From our experiences in the past we found out that dogs left alone bark and howl for their owners and since we try to accomodate pet owners by giving them downstairs rooms they create a disruption to every guest passing by their door on the way to the elevator. For that reason we strictly forbid and penalize guests that leave their pets alone. I know that this policy may have affected your dinner plans or otherwise but I have to insist on that for the comfort of all guests. We are a Hotel and while we welcome pet owners with dogs we do not want to be treated as a kennel taking care of dogs while their owners are out.
The incident that you describe in the morning was when you approached one of the maids and demanded "a towel for your dog". We do not provide dog towels and expect the owners to be responsible for their pets' needs, thus she referred you to the front desk. In summary, our primary concern is with serving the needs of our guests. We do our best to make our canine friends happy, too, but we put our guests first always. This is why we enforce our strict policies.
The bed was awesome, so comfortable that we both slept in. Unusual for being on the road. The room had a separate whirlpool tub, fridge, microwave, 2 TVs and sofa. Breakfast was adequate. There is a great Mexican restaurant within a very short walking distance. We needed the walk after traveling all day.
Dear Ann, I am so glad you enjoyed our bedding and no need to feel guilty about sleeping in :)
I am also glad you discovered the El Rodeo restaurant in our vicinity, it is a locally held secret that it is the best lunch place in town. In fact lunchtime traffic to and from it is such that we have to wait through repeated lights to get out onto University boulevard. We hope to see you again and bon voyage to you.
Located off University avenue just north of the Cracker Barrel. Very friendly check-in, very clean rooms and quite spacious. Weeknights have a happy hour from 5-7PM with very good pizza, nachos with melted cheese and salsa, pretzels, honey roasted peanuts, wine, beer and pop. Bed was very comfortable, slept well. Breakfast was waffles, fruit, frozen omelets to be put in a microwave, biscuits and gravy, sausage that looked rather pale-did not eat, yogurt, milk and juice. Only downside was the bathroom painted brick red which made it rather dark in the room. Would definitely stay again.
Dear Gmasheri, we are glad you enjoyed our social hour which has been the trademark of our Best Western for over 6 years now. We find that giving the guests an opportunity to get out of the rooms ans socialize greatly increases their satisfaction with our hotel and their mood overall.
Happy travels and hurry back.
We had a clean and comfortable room and nice breakfast. It was easy to access the internet, had no problems. I liked the clean shower and was able to take a nice long shower, very enjoyable. The room was quiet, no running screaming kids were heard. I was too tired to swim, though.
