“A bad day at Flannigans”
Reviewed 22 February 2014

While we have eaten at Flannigans many times in the past with good experiences, today was not one of those days. We waited over an hour and a half for our food after ordering which is not easy with two children who were hungry. However, many tables that arrived later received their food and had eaten by the time ours arrived. After our food arrived, it was not good. After explaining this fact to our server, her only response was that she could have them make a new dish...after we waited an hour and half for the last one. There was never an offer to comp a meal or for any consideration for the issues we experienced. Although I was hopeful a manager would be more customer service oriented, all I received was an apology for our troubles and a request that we return. I am sorry to say that we may never be back.

“Fun place in a very unique location”
Reviewed 29 June 2013

Houses in a converted power plant on a roaring river that runs thru Iowa City, Flannigan's and it's more formal sister restaurant are a must see. After eating in the sports-bar style Flannigan's you can walk thru the restaurant and look out on the roaring falls that used to supply the power plant with the water to turn its generators. You can also view them outside. This is a good place to eat when you are staying in the Iowa City area.
