“next door 50 bucks a night”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

Motel 6 is next door. Needed a room for a week got 1 the next night and next door. 7 days for 240 bucks just as good. Free wifi and fridge, micro. Days Inn just 5 mile away offered me an even better rate with free breakfast. Had already paid at motel 6. 1 night at comfort inn was almost 100.

Room Tip: Much better available in that price range. And within a few miles. Stay away from value place rip of...

Our trip was ending and we picked this place for our last night. Our room on the 3rd floor faced the highway so ear plugs were really handy. Room was clean, bed comfortable, AC unit was noisy when it was on which masked the highway noise. But when it cycled off, we'd hear each truck hit the bump on the bridge. but access to I-80 was perfect for us.
Breakfast was not up to the usual Choice Hotel standards. Old equipment, limited selection as compared to other Choice properties where we've stayed.

Room Tip: ask for a room opposite the interstate highway

The hotel was advertised as smokke free but they have four rooms on the top floor reserved for smoking. We got a room that was more smokey than any bar or Casino I have ever visited. Had to find another hotel could not even walk in the room without getting sick.

Room Tip: I can not see even a smoker taking the room we were booked.

We stayed here on going to Branson and also decided to book a room for our return home. Very clean hotel, the breakfast was good, loved that they had biscuits/gravy, my husband liked the scrambled eggs/sausage. There were Belgian Waffles, fruits and choice of cereals, plus sweets, good selection overall. They could put another table or two in the breakfast room though.
The first time our room (112) didn't have a refrigerator/microwave, not sure why as there was plenty of room, so was surprised on our return trip that we had both of these. The cabinet holding these though could be moved over more, ( room 102) as kind of narrow space between the set up now.
The beds were comfortable, and I enjoyed the free Wifi.
Handy right off the freeway, not too many places close by to choose to eat out at though. We did eat at the Steak House just up the road on our second trip, went early, very wise decision!

The room was large, with comfy bed and nice and clean all over. Nice little fridge, coffee maker but no micro - no big deal as we didn't need one. We checked out the pool but decided not to use it because we were too tired and bed was wonderful. We didn't see any green water and spa looked ok too. The best part was that there was a challenge with our reservation because we were trying to accumulate points. When we arrived Mark, redid our reservation, got us a lower price and gave us the points! The next morning we were treated to a great, big country breakfast which was really yummy. Upon arriving home the next day, I realized I had left all my asthma neb machine medication there. It would have cost a small fortune to replace it. I called and although I never received a call back, the medication was sent promptly to our home and I received it within the 2nd day of my call!! What terrific service. Often when we leave personal items behind, we never have received them even though we have called - and offered to pay postage. They somehow "disappear". Mark also went above the call of duty by getting us an extra lamp for our room. The morning desk person was very efficient. The manager also was very helpful in getting us information on touring the JOHN DEERE facility in the area. The only thing lacking was the lighting was rather dim for reading - but when we got the extra light that really helped. Was a little pricey but not so much so and worth the few extra dollars to have such a nice clean environment, comfy bed and delicious breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!! Thanks to the honest housekeeping staff for turning in my expensive meds and for the manager in shipping it free of charge so promptly. They are all to be commended.

Room Tip: We gave up a king suite to stay on the non-highway side of the building so we heard no noise from hi...

I was told this Comfort Inn was close to the Des Moines Airport, its not, its a 20 minute drive to the airport. I stayed in several Comfort Inns and this one is mediocre at best. I guess it's okay for one night, but the price is pretty high for what you get.

We were on a month-long road trip, and made our reservations only at hotels that had jacuzzis and pools that were "up and running" in great condition. I called in advance to each one to be sure of this,

This hotel is an abomination in that regard. The jacuzzi jets didn't work, and it wasn't hot - just warm. We complained about the jets, and the young man called the manager - which helped jets come on - but only the ones on the bottom - no jets for a sore back!

The swimming pool has green water. The handrail was broken and repaired with duct tape, which was not holding. The door to the janitorial room - right IN the swimming area was corroded and rusted through! Disgusting!

There were NO towels in the pool area. I had to ask another swimmer as she got out to ask the desk for a towel so that I could return to my room without dripping water down the hallway.

The beds were comfortable and the maids were kind.

The hotel only puts 2 bathtowels in the room. Please understand hotels: many ladies need two towels - one for their hair. It's a lot easier on you and your staff just to put them there to begin with.

There is no ice on either the 2nd or 3rd floors. Only the main floor.

The young man at the front desk was trying his best, but he didn't have much to work with.

Room Tip: Room was great, pool was horrible.
