“Not as good as Galena”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

It's a poor replica of Galena's Vinny Vanucchi's restaurant. While the Italian décor is similar, the service and quality of food is not. When we first arrived, the host looked inconvenienced by our presence. He quickly seated us to a terrible location within the restaurant, despite the restaurant not being busy and our request. Our server appeared very lazy and unmotivated...equally inconvenienced by our presence. He did not check up on us or refill our drinks until we hunted him down (standing and chatting with other employees). When asked if we could get refills on our drinks, he looked at us like we were asking him to part the Red Sea!

The food was horrible! The salad was limp and the bread was greasy with butter. It took forever for our main course to come out (remember - the restaurant was not busy) - and when we got it...it was barely warm (as if it had been sitting in the kitchen). We both felt sick after eating our meals. We couldn't even finish our meals because of the excess salt in the dishes, and they quickly became cold because we didn't receive them at a proper temperature. Between swatting at all the flies that were in the restaurant and experiencing such poor customer service, we will NEVER go to this restaurant again! They should never have tried to duplicate the wonderful restaurant in Galena!

“Best Garlic Bread in Town!”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

We loved eating at Vinnys! The staff is always very friendly and the food is delicious. If you are staying at the Julien it's just a short walk to the restaurant. They also have an excellent Martini menu!

“Very professional service by Luke”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Excellent garlic bread, good martini's and seafood italiano. Our server, Luke was just a delight.
Recommened by Hilton as a good Italian restaurant and we agree.

“Almost too tourist class”
Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

Vinny"s feels like a real Italian place, almost too real. The menu is good, but the pasta prices are a bit expensive, they should stick with the lunch prices or not show them to you at dinner. The menu is missing a few basics but overall we had a very nice time and the service was very responsive. If I ever find myself in Dubuque again I would return. I am very picky when it comes to food. The French can cook, but the Italians know how to eat.

“Greeted with a smile”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

First impression was great, a smile at the door. Natural brick walls, lots of wood and old photos galore. It was mid afternoon and a lull in the traffic. Talked to the manager and learned the philosophy of the owners. Buy as much product from the vendors/farmers nearby as they can.
Support locals and get produce as fresh as possible. Winner !! Had a special of the day, eggplant parmesean w/great salad bowl and garlic bread. Surprise... enough to take a large portion home. This was a fun meal, good meal and great service.
