Stam's is a unique place where you can eat sweets or gelato AND/OR drink coffee, beer or wine. There are cozy (and clean) nooks and areas where you can have a private experience or you can sit by the big windows and look out on main street for a view.

Hello, I am the owner of the Chocolaterie Stam store you visited. I am sorry you did not take the opportunity to indulge in our chocolates and coffee, which is two of the primary items we are known throughout the tri state area for. We have never been billed as a quick stop for lunch. As you can see by our facebook page Chocolaterie Stam Dubuque, we focus on our chocolates and gelato, coffee and wine. While we do offer a soup and one type of sandwich we do this more for the occasional regular who visits the store. This service is a courtesy to, frankly, our senior regulars as they are looking for a tea room atmosphere that many of them grew up in. Again, I am sorry for your experience. The next time you are in Dubuque, please stop by for the best chocolate you may ever have. Thank you Paula

Love, love, love their chocolate and gelato! Haven't had the coffees, wine, or lunch, but the sweets are amazing and they have a large selection. They even have quite a large selection of sugar-free candies.

We stopped in to this chocolate/desert show for some hot chocolate and chocolates on a cold winter afternoon. The bonbons we purchased were expensive, but delicious. My wife really enjoyed the hot chocolate.

The ambience is early 20th century. It has the feel of an old fashioned ice cream parlor. The chocolate is beautifully presented and wrapped. The gelato is delicious. Coffee and tea is available. The servers are helpful and willing to give samples of the gelato. I can't wait to return.
