We have done Segway tours before and loved them, so when we saw the sign for Tour Dubuque, we thought it looked fun. We've never been to Dubuque before and knew nothing about it and we had a limited amount of time, so it seemed like the perfect way to get the most bang for our buck. It was actually not a Segway tour, but a Trikke tour. The Trikke has 3 wheels and a throttle on the handlebar which is different than a Segway, but it was easy to learn how to use and before long we were off on our 2 hour adventure.
Having no previous knowledge of Dubuque or its history, there was a lot of information to take in. I told our tour guide that it was like drinking from a fire hose. First he took us along the river front which is being developed into a very nice area. Then he took us to see some amazing historic houses in all kinds of different architectural styles. We actually stopped and went in to St. Luke’s Methodist Church which has the most amazing collection of Tiffany stained glass windows. Beautiful! We closed our loop on the city by seeing the quaint downtown area.
This was a fun and informative tour. I would recommend it!!
