This park has amazing views. There are also plenty of shelters for parties and nice playground equipment. The only downfall is that the splash pool looks moldy.

I've written reviews for some other parks in Dubuque, couldn't leave this one off the list. The park winds its way up to a hilltop view overlooking the lock and dam on the Mississippi River. Lots of picnic shelters and picnic tables, even some great playground spaces. And the best part, if you are there at the right time you can see American Bald Eagles! Yet another fantastic park in Dubuque!

One of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to, it is located on Shiras Avenue. It is situated up on the bluffs that line the Mississippi River, and you can look out over the river and see Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. There are plenty of grills for cooking, pavilions you can rent for weddings, parties and family reunions. There is also plenty of play equipment and a wading pool for the kids. This is the perfect place for a picnic.

You can see into multiple states from this beautiful park. The view from the edge of the Mississippi river is breathtaking. Some of the picnic shelters were built as WPA projects and another was designed by a Frank Lloyd Wright student. Make sure you bring a chair to catch one of the free concerts on summer Thursday nights.

We really enjoyed watching the male and female eagles. They were sitting on the ice picking out the small fish. We were able to get some good videos of the eagles flying over the river. They are beautiful, majestic birds.
