We stayed at the Hancock House over Thanksgiving and celebrated our anniversary. We were able to spend 4 nights at the Hancock House. Chuck and Susan were fantastic hosts. They were so welcoming; they even provided us a bottle of sparkling wine (or truffles) to celebrate our anniversary. Breakfast and accommodations were wonderful. Our room even had a working fireplace! The Hancock House far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back.

The Hancock House was very friendly and Chuck and Sharon were amazing. The breakfasts were were fantastic. We stayed in the ballroom suite and it far exceeded our expectations. It had a huge jacuzzi tub and the room was so spacious. What made the whole trip worth it was our hosts. They were so nice and gave us great ideas for things to do. I highly recommend this BnB to anyone traveling through the area.

My six sisters and I truly enjoyed the beautiful rooms and historic accommodations at the Hancock House. We chose this location for our two night stay for our 5th Annual "Seven Sisters" outing in Dubuque, Iowa October 16 and 17, 2013. Susan and Chuck were wonderful hosts and we highly recommend staying here! Great breakfasts and lots of space in the two front parlors to gather for our late night "girl talk".

Room Tip: We had a chance to look at all the rooms and thought they were all special. It would be great to ch...

Well, we just had another fantastic stay with Chuck and Susan at the Hancock House. What a warm feeling to be so far from home yet feel so at home the moment we walked in the door! We relaxed a little and took advantage of the in-room Jacuzzi tub. The library Suite was very comfortable. The other guests were engaging and our hosts were like visiting family (the side of the family you love!)

Room Tip: Many rooms have Jacuzzi's large enough for 2!

We recently stayed at the Hancock House B & B and loved the rooms, each decorated more beautiful than the next. Chuck and Susan couldn't have been more accomodating for our group of 8 people. Breakfast was delicious and all you wanted to eat, pancakes were homemade and flufffy and light, toppings were a great variety, Can't say enough about our stay, it was awesome and the view at night was spectacular.

Room Tip: I stayed in Mrs.Hancock's room with a claw foot tub and jacuzzi, views were great from my room...

My husband and I stayed at the Hancock House B and B for our anniversary. Being our first bed and breakfast experience, we were not disappointed in the least! The breakfast each morning was delicious and was accompanied by sharing stories with other guests and the innkeepers. We enjoyed the evenings by playing games in the parlor and relaxing on the porch. It was nice that they provided the guests with our own pantry, where we could get coffee, make tea, have use of a microwave, refrigerator, cups and mugs. We stayed in Mrs. Hancock's room and loved the double whirlpool as well as the extra-long claw foot tub. The views from the room were spectacular of the city and Mississippi River. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. We would love to go back sometime! The house would be so lovely and charming during Christmas time! We highly recommend the Hancock House!

The Hancock House has a balcony overlooking the city and river and is a great place to relax and converse with fellow guests or all by yourself. I recommend a day trip to Galena. The rooms are decorated and furnished in an old style that takes you back in time. You will marvel at how this house was built in its time. The house needs some more TLC but I can appreciate it is never ending task for the owners. The breakfast is always very good and the cookies left for nights are great. If you are looking for something different than a Super 8 and costs just a few $ more then give it a try.
