“Pet-friendly get-away”
Reviewed 28 September 2012

I wanted a place to travel to close to my home outside of Chicago. I checked pet-friendly hotels and came across this family run Days Inn. The price was right and my expectations were a clean and comfortable room. There were a few cleanliness problems, but the manager Ron, addressed it immediately. I could tell he was a proud owner, and a very nice man to talk to, as were the housekeepers. The area surrounding the hotel was beautiful and if the owner would like to use the picture I post...feel free! The pool was clean and the bar was friendly, and I just love taking 2 steps out of my room to get to my car! I spent 4 days there, and I'll be back. Dadio, my dog, and I enjoy Iowa hospitality!

stayed a friday eve I was concerned frtiday eve band would mean noise not so office/pool bldg is away from the two sleeping rooms that said the motel is 2/3 non smoking but has clients that smoke 50% of time the clients know the motel doesnt enforce nonsmoking the first nonsmokng room offered to us was so smoky with smoke enduces ashama we had to immediately turn around and exit and use inhaler the second room we tried still seemed smokey but didnt trigger using the inhaler again bottom line if smoke /smoke smell bothers you
do not book a room if yuou dont care about smoke grounds are beautiful its built on side of hill
breakfast is ok

Room Tip: if you dont want to be near fir and sat bans get a room in 300 or 400 's

The hotel is a bit outdated but pretty large & has some great food along with some pretty cool weekend entertainment. Located close to everything in Dubuque. Rooms are okay, nothing to rave about. Prices are super low!

Ended up in a very small room with a single bed at the very far end of the complex, which made WiFi non-functional. Stairway to upstairs was damp and had a horrible smell in it. Room was tiny and outdated, but reasonably clean. Small TV. Definitely a low-end hotel. Bunch of drunk people staggering out of the small bar that was attached to the hotel. One lady proceeded to pull her pants down and pee in the parking lot, which topped off my stay there. Anyhow, front-desk staff was very friendly and apologetic about non-functioning WiFi. The only good thing about this place is that it was cheap. Would definitely NOT stay there again!

Economy is one thing, but sharing one salt and pepper shaker for an entire dining room??? Clean place to sleep and leave for about 60 bucks.

I know the Days Inn off of Dodge Street in Dubuque well. Years ago it was the Holiday Inn and a very swanky place that was used for wedding receptions and banquet events. I know this because I was born and raised in Dubuque and my older brother had his wedding dinner reception at this facility. I don't really know when it changed from Holiday Inn to Days Inn and it really doesn't matter. Going back to Dubuque for a holiday get-together with family who had limited sleeping quarters, we decided to opt for a motel. Our main concern was it be clean and inexpensive as we were only going to be there to sleep. The rooms were clean; however, the air conditioning unit did not work very well. My husband pulled the filters and they were so dirty it appeared they had not been cleaned since this motel was the Holiday Inn. We notified the front desk and they did take care of the problem; however, this shows poor maintenance and housekeeping, so you have to wonder what other things are overlooked. We took advantage of the breakfast and it was wonderful. Waffles, toast, muffins, rolls, boiled eggs, a variety of fresh fruit, juice, milk, coffee, etc. A pleasant eating area overlooking the outdoor pool with lit up palm trees for decoration. If you are looking for a place to sleep without breaking the budget, a breakfast included with items to satisfy everyone in your family, and not a lot of frills, this will fit the need. If you want lots of bells and whistles and plan to vacation at the motel facility, go elsewhere.

We were looking for an inexpensive family hotel that would allow us to bring our two dogs along and found the Days Inn Dubuque to be the perfect fit for us. The room was large and comfortable for 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. It was also surprisingly quiet. I liked the additions of microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and wifi. I would definitely stay there again.
