For those of us on the west side of West Lake Okoboji, Kazarelli's is the perfect neighborhood bar & restaurant. It's like you're sitting in the Cheers Bar! You almost expect to see Norm sitting at the end of the bar.
Dan does a great job with his steaks & seafood, but the kobe beef lasagna is his speciality.

Kazarelli's is one of the best bets for interesting food in the Okoboji area. They usually have a special. The salads and appetizers are excellent and the entrees are good as well. Prices are reasonable for high end Iowa food.

I can''t review the food because we didn't stay. This is just a warning. We saw they were advertising all u can eat fish on Fridays. Since they are less than a block from a geat fishing lake we thought it can't be to bad. When we arrived we asked about the fish fry. The waitress said it was $12.95 and a $2.00 upcharge for catfish. What can cost lower than catfish? Swai, according to the waitress it is a vietnamese fish and they tempura battered it. Why at an italian resturant are they tempura battering the fish? We headed to the Dry Dock for walleye.

Consistently great food with friendly service and convenient to dock from the lake and walk up. One chilly night in September as we were up at the lake to winterize we decided to head over by boat for one last dinner there before we put the boat away for the season. We got there late and very close to closing time. In fact, they had ready packed up and were counting the drawer. When we walked in and saw this we offered to leave so they could go home. They wouldn't hear of it and instead the chef went in back and insisted on making up our dinner. The owner made us our drink and chatted with us about their business and remodeling plans for the next season. We were so impressed with their willingness to not only serve us but to make us feel so welcome. Other restaurants could take a lesson from them on treating customers right. Excellent quality food, great drinks and awesome employees. We will be definitely be back next season and probably for winter games too !

Although Kazarelli's has a dock for boats, the restaurant itself is across the road without a lot of windows. The food was very good and the wine selection was fine, I would go there again.
