“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2013

Metheringham is a quiet backwater of a place - convenient for Lincoln (best visited by train from Metheringham station), Woodhall Spa (a delightful gem of a place) and the vast expanse eastwards towards the coast! The pub serves excellent food, all fresh and generous laden on the plate. The B and B is excellent value and we were made to feel very welcome. Comfortable, clean and quirky. Breakfasts are brought over by Pippa from the pub across the car park. Tasty.

The Lincolnshire sausages from the neighbouring butchers are superb.

Worth another visit.

Pippa couldn't have been more helpful.
The cottage was lovely and clean, more than adequate furniture, ample kitchen amenities, spacious beamed bedroom and clean bright shower room.
Off-road parking right outside an added bonus.
Breakfast served in the cottage at a time to suit you was fantastic with evening meals in the Inn's restaurant not only varied and very tasty but also good value for money especially from the "2 traditional meals for £12" menu
We hope to pay another visit in the future

Staying close to Metheringham hubby and I were looking for somewhere to have Sunday Lunch, came across this inn whilst driving through Metheringham looking for a suitable venue. Had to look closely to check that it was actually open and serving food. No menu posted outside but an A4 sheet on the front door lured us through... Sent menu for £9.95 for two courses log fire in the grate and a clean well presented bar area was set up for diners. This inn also has B and B and a restaurant but food was being served in the bar this Sunday.

Home made soup with home made bread drew may interest and hubby had stilton on walnut bread served hot with a salad garnish we both opted for roast beef and were happy to see that veg was served seperately.

Overall this was a good option, however everything was a little underseasoned, not a problem as salt and pepper was provided and I think with more turnover this will be a really great place to eat. Nice to see an additional jug of gravy brought out with our lunch.

If I were to be making a suggestion as to an improvement I would say one additional veg, our been was served with roast and new pots plus yorkshire plus carrots and parsnips, the addition of a green vegetable would have been appreciated.

Sorry that we could not actually mark this as a 3.5 rising to 4
