The pub is surrounded by lovely countryside and fourteen of us did a circular 5 mile walk followed by an excellent lunch provided by Dawn and her team. The friendly welcome and warm atmosphere is just what you want to find in a village pub.

Popped in for lunch after a long walk in Tenchley's Park. Friendly staff, cozy old fashioned village pub

Food was exceptionally good - probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. Great local Westerham beer and homemade English puds to finish

Good value - we'll be back

Thank HLP

Dawn runs a proper old school pub that happens to do excellent food as well.
My brother has come over from Australia and visited an English pub for the first time in five years and couldn't be happier with his beer and food choices as well as the great traditional atmosphere generated by this friendly mix of staff and customers.
Whenever I come to this pub I always get a warm welcome and would recommend it to anybody.

Hmmm... having eaten here before my latest visit was not so good. They didn't have any trace of my reservation, but plenty of free tables so no harm done. Starters very disappointing - leek and potato soup that was so thick you could literally stand your spoon up in it. Looked like porridge. Beetroot, feta, pear and pecan salad lacking in pecans. Mains good though - good size portions and no complaints about that - fish and chips, lovely moist fish, veggie lasagne and steak and mushroom pie. Good pub grub. However a bit more attention to detail in the kitchen wouldn't go amiss.
