Lost count of how many times we have stayed here, as a couple and with friends and family since 1996. We all love it, attention to detail is second to none, and the welcome and attention is spot on. Comfy, warm and the food is yummy nothing is too much trouble. Be prepared for 20-25min drive from Connel bridge depending what you see on the water as you go, it is worth the drive.

Another trip to Blarcreen House and two nights of blissful r+r. The house is fabulous while Sian and Garry are attentive (but not too attentive!) hosts. Housekeeping standards are spot-on and spotless while Garry's breakfasts offer great quality and choice. The surroundings are equally as delightful. This house deserves its five star rating and is a superb base for both Oban and the wider area. It will never disappoint you.

Room Tip: We've looked at all the rooms here and all are great but the four posters are the best!

Unfortunately only stayed for one night after a week on a yacht! Everything was absolutely great - the standard of the room, beds, bathroom, food etc etc etc. You could not wish for more. They deserve to make a go of it. Bijou B & B at its best. Thank you.

Room Tip: The four poster was fun!

I have stayed here on two separate occasions now.

Working in Oban in the summer saw all the B and B's fully booked. Luckily for me Blarcreen House had a room available, and what a room it was. Plushly furnished, comfortable beds, good shower (hard to find in a lot of B and B's, Green and Black's chocolates and a whole range of teas.

Great views from all the rooms as you are surrounded by field's, animals, mountains and the huge Loch in front of them.

The food cooked by both Sian and Garry is fantastic, and can accommodate all tastes, you will not be hungry after having one of their meals. They always had the tea ready for me as i walked in the door from work which was perfect.

My need for and early breakfast was not a problem for them either, providing me with a big hot breakfast before i left for work each day. All produce they use is excellent and the coffe provided was superb.

Sian and Garry are very attentive hosts. They strike a perfect balance, providing interesting conversation and good company, but also leaving you be if you wish. On both occasions when staying, I sat in the lounge with the both of them talking and drinking with the other guests (tea for me), it was brilliant and different from the normal faceless franchise hotel's I also stay in where no one speaks to each other. It was so relaxed and a great way to chill out after a hard day.

I work all over the country and this is truly the best B and B/Hotel i have ever stayed in.

Pro's - As above
Con's - I can't stay here every time i have to go away for work.

Blarcreen House is at the end of a 6 mile long single track road, this is part of the experience as the scenery is fantastic. We were warmly welcomed on arrival with coffee and shortbread. Our room was beautiful and furnished to a high standard, most importntly it was spotlessly clean.

The room had a four poster bed, Sky TV, a changing room and a large bathroom with everything required including bathrobes. We slept soundly on the extremely comfortable bed.The silence in this rural setting is hard to describe. The views are lovely; arriving later than anticipated meant we never managed a walk to the Loch, we will return to do so.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of food offered. I would recommend this small hotel without reservation.

Blarcreen is one of the best small hotels we have stayed in. Set in wonderful surroundings, restored to a very high standard with beautiful rooms. Our hosts Sian & Garry couldn't have been more attentive. We were made to feel very welcome with afternoon tea on arrival and some of Sian's delicious homemade muffins. They have a great knowledge of the surrounding area and it's attractions and recommended several places to visit and eat, all of which were great. Our room was delightful with a lovely four poster bed and views of the loch. The bathroom was very well appointed and we loved the attention to detail with bottled water, yummy chocolates and fluffy robes. Our breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked with the best quality ingredients. The dining room is beautiful, overlooking the garden where you can watch the local birds feeding while you eat. A superb hotel, we hope to visit again and would recommend anyone else to do so.

Room Tip: Room with four poster bed is very romantic with lovely views.

We recently spent just one night at the Blarcreen Hotel near Oban. It was the best small hotel we've visited in a long time. The room was beautifully decorated and equipped and breakfast in the superb dining room the next morning was a joy, looking out at the birds visiting the feeders, the sheep in the field next door and the glorious view across the wooded lochside to the loch itself. Best of all, the owners Sian and Garry couldn't have been more friendly and attentive, with their warm welcome of tea and cake. The breakfast was a treat, with lovely food and elegant tableware.

We're told an evening meal might be arranged with prior notice.

We hope we'll visit again, and would encourage anyone else to do so.

One little tip; sat navs don't do too well in finding the property, so it might be wise to ring or email the hotel before driving there, for instructions about the last bit of the route.

Room Tip: Room No 1 was ideal for us.
