The rooms are very retro-chic. There are very nice amenities (read the packaging, very funny), with ample room throughout the entire area. All rooms have outside views, The rooms are very quiet (all brick walls) and most doors have old rock & roll photos or artists.

The food is really fresh and plentiful. Nice size portions and the buffet had an excellent selection.

The entire facility is filled with memorabilia and the restaurants are themed to popular artists.

Located right next to the Tyson Center, perfect location with a really nice casino.

Room Tip: Rooms are all even numbered, with no interior rooms. Nice workout room also. Food is plentiful and...

Very hip, very comfortable hotel! The staff is fantastic and we loved that they offered us a drink when we arrived! Our room was beautiful. They did a great job of mixing the rustic charm of the historic building with music inspired décor. It is unlike anyplace I have ever stayed and we cannot wait to go back again! Why rate this hotel Four Star when its service and atmosphere are clearly "ROCK star!"

Thank you Hard Rock!!!

After months of non stop work, the Hard Rock reminds you what it means to let loose and enjoy yourself! From the minute you enter the hotel lobby bar to the excellent service, beautifully restored Battery Building and entertainment, we left feeling refreshed and with great memories.

We'll definitely be back.

I collect Hard Rock memorabilia and trade with people from all over the world. I was excited to see this brand come to my city. Whenever I read a less-than-positive review of our local Hard Rock, I always wonder if people are even reviewing the same place I have visited on multiple occasions. I also wonder if the negative reviews come from disgruntled and bitter folks who were upset their favorite casinos didn't win the bid to build here.
First, let's remember this establishment opened on August 1, so certainly, even as of August 15, there are kinks to be worked out. That said, I was there on opening night and not once did I encounter a rude employee or poor service, and in subsequent visits at various times throughout the day, the story has remained the same. . . this place rocks. Here is what I have experienced.
1) The valets and front door attendants as well as security personnel are super friendly I love having doors opened for me and heartfelt greetings as I enter an establishment.
2) The floor waitresses will usually stop and ask me if I need a drink within moments of arrival.
3) I have been to The Yards and The Anthem bars several times. The service is friendly, speedy, and the beer is cold. . . always.
4) I've eaten at Fuel several times and had samples from the buffet and Main + Abbey on opening night. So far, everything has been tasty. Main + Abbey isn't yet open as of this review but I can't wait to sit outside and watch college football on Saturdays.
5) Cleaning crews seem to be constantly moving around the facility. It always feels clean.
6) The artifacts from various musicians rival those on display in large city Hard Rocks. My favorites include David Cassidy's jumpsuit and one of Mick Jagger's ensembles.
7) The lobby bar at the front desk is a sight to see. The entire lobby area feels trendy and sexy, certainly unique for Sioux City.
8) Even the hotel room doors are distinctive; they depict various musicians and industry-related photos. See pictures in this review.
9) Parking is ample and secure.
10) The hotel portion is in a historic building. I believe it's a good thing to repurpose space.
11) From a local person's standpoint, I will say this part of town has much to offer. There are bars, shops, and restaurants nearby. The Tyson Events Center, Historic 4th Street, Sioux City Convention Center, and Farmers' Market are within walking distance. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, Anderson Pavilion, and the walking trail along the Missouri River are minutes away. The hotel itself is located just off Interstate 29 with quick access to Nebraska to the immediate west, you can see Nebraska from the hotel, and South Dakota a few miles north. Our airport is just off Interstate 29 about 10 minutes south of the hotel.
The Hard Rock has been consistently great, in my opinion.

Let me preface this by saying that I don't ever review places online, never have on TripAdvisor before, but after raving to my friend about this place and her telling me that she saw a couple bad ratings online, I felt compelled to contribute.

My girlfriend and I went there for their opening weekend, and it was a blast. For a town like Sioux City, the Hard Rock Casino is some much needed entertainment/nightlife. They had a Gene Simmons impersonator that was a riot, and was taking pictures and super friendly with anyone who approached him (which was... everyone). The memorabilia they had was fantastic, I spent a solid hour just wandering around looking at the old records, outfits, gear, guitars, etc. from some legendary artists (Elvis, Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Prince, & much more). They had a buffet that was a smorgasbord of crazy things I had never tried before, most of which were excellent. Particularly the raspberry/cream cheese things.

As for the hotel part, while I didn't have a room AT the hotel that night, I did take a tour through a room on the 5th(?) floor. Coming from Chicago, I've seen some sweet hotel rooms. This one was SICK. I'd totally pay whoever designed this place to tackle my own house any day. I guarantee anyone who stays in a room like this will FEEL like a rock star. Speaking of which, the building that the whole place is situated in has some really cool history behind it, and Hard Rock totally captured the feel. It's like they modernized it, while accentuating its heritage, but with a rock n roll twist (naturally).

On to the music venue! Great place to see a show. Intimate setting, good view from pretty much anywhere in the room, and they keep it nice and cool, unlike many small venues I've been to that end up feeling stuffy and uncomfortable half way through the set. The opening act was Aaron Lewis (of former 2000's band Staind), and to be honest, I didn't expect to like him very much. To my surprise, he put on an excellent show, but I suppose this has little bearing on the venue itself. Drinks were well made and not too pricey, and although I think they could have used an extra bartender or two for that first night, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

As for the casino itself - again this was opening night, so the place was JAM-PACKED. Thus, I did not get to experience as much as I'd have liked, but when I did play, it was fun. Didn't get to any table games, but the slots were solid. I greatly appreciated that a server seemed to magically appear every time my drink got low! Ended up winning a some cash over the course of about 2 hours... nothing to write home about, but more than enough to cover my drinks for the evening.

Overall, the whole place was great. I liked the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, the music venue, and the games. While extremely crowded and a little nuts the opening night, both my girlfriend and I had a blast the entire time. Next time we are out that way, we'll be staying in the Hard Rock for sure.

p.s. To the negative reviewer named "juan j" below mine, I IMPLORE you to go back to high school and just... take another shot at English, would you? It hurts my f'ing brain to read that garbage.

Any grand opening will have it's share of hang-ups. That's what's supposed to happen. Despite the insane crowd (they probably weren't expecting such a large turnout) The Hard Rock Sioux City has potential for something incredible. Once management gets the kinks out, this place is seriously going to be amazing. I absolutely loved all the memorabilia! The lounge area down past the buffet had a sexy feel. The whole design of the room was one of my favorites. The food at the buffet was delicious; my favorites being a tie between the meatloaf & mashed potatoes and the Chinese noodle stir fry. YUM! Hardly waited more than a couple minutes for our drinks to be delivered and our server was adorable and friendly! Walked though Main + Abbey. I wish we had more time to hang out in there because it was such a cool place. I hope to come back for a dining experience. Thought the chandeliers in the birdcages = WANT! Whoever designed this restaurant deserves a pat on the back. Great eye for design. The first hour or so after the doors opened were chaos, and it was difficult to find a machine open. After the initial craziness died off, it was relatively easy to fine one. We noticed the long line, which understandably is frustrating but like I said, grand opening is a chance for the kinks to be worked out. Before cashing out and collecting our winnings, we stopped by the gift shop ad browsed a bit, waiting for the lines to clear up. Kudos to the staff, I'm sure it was a crazy opening and probably was exhausting. The staff we interacted with were always pleasant and accommodating. I'm excited to come back and check out the rest of the venue.
