At first glance, this appears to be a large Victorian home, but it is actually a modern boutique hotel, built in the 1990's, converted to a B&B. What appears to be an excellent restoration, is actually near-new in condition. It is managed by a couple who took over the property just last year. They are doing an excellent job of maintaining the property and grounds. The spacious rear yard has many mature Oaks, and there are extensive rock gardens and ponds, with a spacious patio.
Our room was spacious, and spotless. The bedding was high-quality and beautiful. There was a gas corner fireplace, a microwave oven and frig built into an armoir, and a large armoir for clothing. French doors opened to a huge balcony overlooking the rear yard.
The dining room was spacious and the food delicious, including yogurt, fruit, homemade breads and muffins, and a delicious entry resembling a small quiche wrapped in bacon.
The only negative factor would have to be the location, as there is no special view, other than the park-like grounds behind the building. It is just off a busy County road, and nearby properties include residential homes and a coffee shop, however, the coffee shop serves wine, sandwiches, and wood-fire pizza. The location is very convenient to popular sights and should not be considered an objection. I would definitely recommend the place over typical hotels. As a B&B it is an upscale jewel.
