We (me, husband and 4 year old daughter) stayed for 2 weeks in this beautiful holiday rental in July 2014. We visit France every year and have stayed in many villa rentals over the last 10 years. I can honestly say that this was one of the best. There are 3 options to rent and we stayed in loustalneuf which sleeps up to 6. I did have a look around the other 2 and they looked equally as nice. The accommodation was lovely, well equipped and very clean, fresh towels and sheets after the first week. As the villas are at a slightly higher altitude than we have previously stayed, we were not bothered by midges at all (some flies but not a bother) which is one of my pet hates on holiday. This also meant that the evenings and nights were wonderfully cool, great for little ones sleeping soundly! The grounds and pool area are immaculately kept. The pool was one of the highlights; slightly heated (my daughter never wanted to get out!) with plenty of sun loungers and shaded areas to keep cool in the daytime. The view of the mountains in the distance was also lovely. Our hosts, Julian and Nigel were very welcoming and on hand for any queries or problems (not that we had any problems at all). Although we spent a lot of time by the pool, there are plenty of places nearby to visits. 40 mins to carcassone, 20 mins to mirepoix, 1 hour 15 to the coast (lovely beach at leucate). All in all, a fabulous holiday. We have never returned to any of the villas we have stayed in before as I prefer to try different ones each year but I think this is definitely one we will go back to and I would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed a lovely two week vacation in early June and had a truly wonderful time. The house was well equipped, clean and comfortable.Julian and Nigel made us feel very welcome and were more than happy to recommend places to visit in the local area. The weather was hot and sunny for us and we took advantage of the beautiful pool and enjoyed several walks in the surrounding countryside. I would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends and hope to visit again in the future.

We had a wonderful holiday in June with our son, his wife and 5 month baby daughter. The weather was hot and sunny so we made good use of the fantastic pool (even baby went swimming daily). The grounds were lovely and the views awesome. The house itself was superb, well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine everything you could want and very comfy. Julian and Nigel were wonderful hosts - always there to offer advice or recommendations. Every restaurant they recommended was excellent. We hope to go back and would strongly recommend them.

We endorse all the compliments of previous reviewers as this truly is a fabulous place. It has it all, so travellers can book with confidence, knowing that Julian and Nigel are on hand to provide advice, occasional cooked suppers - not to be missed, swift replacements for worn equipment - no economising here, comfy beds, 'workmate' for husband who can't resist carving the local supply of hardwood!! ...... Yes, there's no end to the hospitality and, what with the beautiful setting, we found it hard to leave the domaine. However, Carcassonne, vineyards, restaurants, medieval villages, Pyrenees ..... did call us away from time to time. Thank you both so much.

Room Tip: Both rooms are en suite, and double room has the benefit of sunrise.

We had a fabulous week in Loustalneuf. The house was perfect, clean and very comfortable. The grounds were very well maintained, the pool very clean and our two small children had a ball exploring the place, playing boules, football and feeding the chickens! The view of the Pyrenees is stunning. There was plenty of things to do in the local area for the kids, bison farm, climbing Montsegur, cycling along the Canal du Midi and of course all the fabulous castles in the area (Carcassonne, Foix). A great holiday and thoroughly recommended!

It felt as if we'd died and gone to heaven. The place was so tranquil, the view so beautiful (yes you can see the Pyranees), and the owners have spent a lot of time cultivating beautiful gardens (and pool). Internally the decoration is comfortable, exquisitely decorated and very clean. Moreover the welcome packs were such a lovely idea - thank you. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

A beautiful house, clean, comfortable, stylish, and well equipped, just right to return to after a busy day exploring the region with so many hidden gems. The rural setting is wonderful and the view of the snow capped Pyrenees when you arise in the morning is the icing on the cake. The grounds provide ample opportunity for relaxing and the pool was surprisingly open most days in the first week of May.
When we return to the area this will be our accommodation of choice.
