Found this place by accident, now staying 2 nights a week on average whilst trying to find a house. Everything is just right, the food is lovely, the people are great and a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend it to everyone else but I don't want anyone else staying there!
Love the cheese board.
Really scuppered my diet.

The rooms are to the rear of the pub steep path , beautifully kept gardens give the impression of well maintained holiday let's.
Rooms spacious and well equipped, bathroom tiles a tad mouldy, though I think I might have been unlucky.
The bar and Restraunt serves english pub food of high quality. Smoked haddock fish cake tasted of smoke and real fish. Most unusual , steak and ale suet pudding perfection, staff very friendly.
Great value for money all around.

Well worth a visit.

Our fourth stay has been wonderful at the black horse inn. As ever the food was lovely, both at dinner and at breakfast ( worth getting up for!). The rooms were large, bright and welcoming with a good range of tea/ coffee(including filter coffee). Service everywhere was friendly, professional but warm. Will we return a fifth time? You bet!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The rooms are in chalets within the grounds and are very spacious, clean and modern. There is plenty of coffee tea and hot chocolate. The Gounds are very well presented and the location is quiet with no traffic noise. An umbrella is even in the room for your use to walk to the pub from your room should it rain ! The pub itself is superb. As soon as you walk in you feel welcome and relaxed. The food is exquisite and presented beautifully. We ate here for the two nights and wished were we staying longer to work our way through the menu ! But book a table in advance as the restaurant was really busy even on a Monday and Tuesdayt. All the staff are so helpful, friendly and polite. Its a little treasure in the Kent Countryside and we will stay again.

I booked one night here with my husband and another couple. Saturday night was buzzing. The rooms are clean, spacious and in lovely surroundings. The food was fantastic, yum. Great chef. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, efficient and our waitress Jackie was lovely. Service with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. The ambience of the place is spot on. Dimmed lights and candles - at last a restaurant that understands the need for ambience! I join others before me in praising this hotel, bar and food. They have got it spot on in my view.

I had booked the BlackHorse Inn for one night. But I was so overwelmed by the quality of the accomodation and the friendliness of the staff that I extended my stay for an extra night.
As a business traveler i need to stay 10-15 times a year in a hotel, so i see myself to be able to judge a good hotel when you see it.

The Black Horse is without a shadow of doubt the best hotel i ever stayed within the UK. Very good value for money, very comfortable rooms and the staff is just top notch. From Gemma at the reception to the girls and guys in the restaurant whose names i have forgotten.

I can't wait for the next time when i have to stay in the Maidstone area to book a room at the Black Horse Inn. The location is also not far (20 minutes drive) from Ebbsfleet International station from which a train takes you into central London in 12 minutes flat, making it a convenient location too if you don't want to stay in an expensive and probably less quality hotel in London.

If you want to have the best overnight stay including a top meal and a cosy bar afterwards, the Black Horse Inn should be your choice, and no I am not a member of staff, but simply overwhelmed by this experience.

I got married at The Black Horse Inn, Thurnham in June 2011. What a fantastic place to have a wedding at! The main meal, Pork Belly with Dauphinoise Potatoes and vegetables, was cooked to perfection, with most people telling us that it was the best meal that they had ever had at a wedding. The staff were more than accommodating and consequently the whole day went so smoothly.
The rooms are beautifully presented; we had the four poster bed for our wedding night.
It was lovely to reminisce about the night before over a lovely cooked breakfast back up in the pub in the morning.
Thank you to all the staff that made our day possible.
