This was the first time that my husband and I have visited the Inn, and was a pleasant surprise for my birthday.
Upon arrival the staff were very wecloming and friendly, and were so, throughout our stay. Our room, Heather, was cosy and comfortable. As of late, the weather has been extremely cold, but our room was warm and kept the night chill away. It was equipped with all of the facilities that were required and was exactly what was needed.
The restaurant meal in the evening was delicious and without a doubt value for money. The breakfast choice was plentiful - a wide range of cereals and fruit were available as well as a cooked breakfast (our choice), which was very filling.
We would definately stay again and upon leaving, we would highly recommend this Inn to anoyone who wants a warm friendly atmosphere and value for money.

Found and booked this on expedia. Useful to have sat nav to find it in a charming rural location.

Chalet type room had all I needed plus a nice gastro pub type restaurant in main house that was full of locals

Will stay again.

This was our second stay here, we returned as we were so impressed with everything the first time, amazing value for a lovely hotel, very clean and modern and good breakfast included, very cosy and peaceful for a getaway and lovely walks in the surrounding area. Unfortunately we did have some problems with our room, the blind would not go up and there was no hot water due to plumbing problems and it being a bank holiday, but the staff were good and in the end, as they were fully booked and could not move us, the whole cost of our stay was refunded. Despite this we still had a lovely time, we ate in the restaurant and, although pricey, was well worth the money. I think we were just unlucky with the room this time and would definately return.

Would recommend this hotel, clean & very helpful staff. The restaurant service, food was the best. Decor in the restaurant is very kentish. Could not believe on a Thurs nite the place was packed. Shows what a great place this is. Would tell anyone to eat drink & be merry at the Black Horse Inn. Would stay again if we are ever in the area. We stayed at the Marriott also in Maidstone and must say it was the worst Marriott we have ever stayed at would not recommend it for any Diamond member. This Black Horse even out of the way a bit was a 1000 times better all around.

My partner & I stayed here over the Bank Holiday weekend. We got engaged at Leeds Castle, a beautiful place only a 10 minute drive away.
Our room was very clean, nicely decorated with a comfy bed. Our dinner was delicious. The pub/restuarant is very cosy. Great choice for breakfast the next morning too.
Would definatly go back!

We spent one night in a family ensuite. The room was large with a double bed and a twin bed (a real one, not merely a fold out bed). Positives: Large, comfortable room; quiet location; well looked-after grounds; ample free parking; friendly staff at reception and restaurant; no problem getting two keys for the room, although did not appreciate being asked at check out (by different staff member) why we needed two keys; remote controlled fan; magazines and umbrella in the room are a nice touch; delicious breakfast. Negatives: TV in room is minuscule; no shelf space in bathroom to put any of our things; small wardrobe; desk is too small to hold coffee/tea tray, kettle, etc and therefore can't be used for anything else; carpet by the bed is a dust/hair magnet. The area is lovely and we will definitely be back and stay longer the next time. We did not have the opportunity to dine at the restaurant due to our son's nut allergy (the menu has a nut warning with no follow up statement suggesting willingness to accommodate). However, the next time we may make further enquiries about ingredients with kitchen staff prior to booking, especially if we are staying for several days. If breakfast is any indication of the quality of the food, dinner would likely be delicious as well and the menu certainly looked appetising. All in all, a lovely stay in a wonderful location. Highly recommended.

The Pub serves excellent real ale and kent cider which is a great plus to me and the wife. The rooms are very nice with good extras such as caftierre coffee and mineral water. It is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent.

The only critisism would be that the prices in the resaurant are a bit over priced for the standard of food, which whilst good isnt quite worth the money.

But that to me is a different matter this is about the hotel and stay which was superb.
