We first stayed here for one night whilst en route to a location further south. Bernadette and Robert made us so welcome that we came back for a full week. We've stayed 5 or 6 times now.
Lovely, comfortable bedrooms in peaceful surroundings; superb home cooking; the sound of water as it gushes past the old mill. There's even a nice lake to walk round before dinner. Lots of nice places to visit without having to travel very far. The gardens surrounding the property are very nice to walk around too.
If you enjoy excellent company with superb home-made food, interesting home-made aperitifs and a few glasses of wine then you will love Moulin de Fillievres. You will get the opportunity to brush up on your French too!! If you want T.V.s in every room, enjoy fast food and like to rush about, this is not the place for you.
If you want to buy provisions for lunch or perhaps a picnic, then you need go no further than the boulangerie which is around 150 metres up the road.
We are very keen nature lovers and photographers. When we visited in March we got snowed in on one of the days. The number of different birds that we saw from the bedroom window was amazing. The trees, mill pond and gardens support a wide variety. Kingfishers, grey wagtails and little grebes to name but a few!
A perfect, relaxing getaway where we know that we will be looked after.
