Blaen Cedi Farm
Reviewed 31 December 2010

We booked The Stable at Blaen Cedi for our winter honeymoon; we wanted to get away from it all somewhere comfortable in a scenic area and it was just perfect for us. Marion and Jeff were very welcoming and helpful, even giving travel advice during our journey down in very snowy weather (despite the snow and location, the farm was easily accessible).

We arrived to mulled wine, mince pies, Christmas decorations and a bottle of fizz as it was our honeymoon!

The Stable has all the facilities you could wish for, we managed to cook a full Christmas dinner there, and was very spacious for a couple. It was warm and very comfortable in even the very cold weather we experienced. Excellent hot-tub!

There are decent shops in the village and we can also recommend the food at the Poundffald pub in nearby Three Crosses. Thanks to Jeff for giving us a lift there one night.

All of the Gower's attractions are only a short drive away and it is also possible to spend a pleasant day out exploring locally on foot.

We would not hesitate to stay at Blaen Cedi again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, comfortable and peaceful break.

We've been to Blaen Cedi with our daughter (now 7 years old) 4 times so far, and each time we're relieved to find it hasn't changed. Marion and Jeff who run the place are so accomadating, making you feel like it's your home from the minute you arrive.

The Farm is in a prefect location, only 20-25mins drive to nearby beaches of Caswell, Llangland etc and Worms Head, but far enough away to relax and chill on the hillside.

If you like you're walking or surfing, the hot tub is an amazing way to unwind. Include a cold beer in the equation, and it's sheer bliss!

We'll definately be back again soon.

We love this place, we have stayed at Blaen Cedi five times now and the welcome gets warmer each time. Jeff and Marion treat you like old friends, nothing is too much trouble and the little touches like milk in the fridge, flowers and wine are what makes them, as hosts, just that little bit special.
We have stayed in the Cabin and the Stable Cottage and both are well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could want if you don't want to eat out.
All the cottages are set in beautiful secure grounds with splendid views across the estuary. They even have a spa pool in the garden, imagine the sun setting and sitting in the pool with a cool glass of wine.
For those who would like quiet surroundings and a peacful retreat, this is the place to be.

The Stable was more than spacious and comfortable. The complimentary red wine and fresh roses a delightful touch, whilst Jeff & Marion are both kind and generous of spirit.

The well stocked village shop is only a very short drive away; a pharmacy and excellent butcher also within striking distance. This is the spot for the perfect quiet and secluded stay yet everything is on the door step for those happy to drive a little way to see the glorious Gower.

I discovered Blaen Cedi purely by chance whilst surfing on the internet. Having always wanted to visit the Gower (and with two small children) it seems idyll and it was. Jeff and Marion could not be more helpful nor kind. The welcoming Welsh cakes, pint of Milk (and the bottle of red for tired mum and dad!) were most welcome. Love this place so much booked it last year to come back in 2009 and are doing so in 2010 bringing Winkworth baby no 3 to be introduced to Jeff and Marion.

PS - even a travel cot is provided what a stress (and packing) relief!

Many thanks to Jeff and Marion who gave us an extremely warm welcome after a very long drive in bad weather. I had asked if we could have access to the cottage a little earlier as my elderly Mother was travelling with me. This was no problem.

Our stay was for a week at The Cottage, one of several converted 17th Century outbuildings which were attached to the main farmhouse. As two ladies together we felt extremely safe and comfortable as there was almost always someone home and we also accessed the farm (which was all private property) through electronic iron gates (we were given controls for it throughout our stay).

Immediately on arrival we were met by Jeff who offered to help with luggage into the property and also gave us a welcoming tour of the The Cottage. The added extras of two vases of fresh flowers, the fire already on, a bottle of wine and tea laid out for two with a plate of homemade Welsh cakes plus milk in the fridge made all the difference to anywhere else we have stayed.

The cottage was immaculate, spotlessly clean and cosy. My Mother had the double bed and I had the upper bunk in the second bedroom which was surprisingly comfortable and warm. We only had one query about the heating during our stay, which was answered and solved immediately. We really did feel we were no trouble at all and nothing was too much. If the weather had been permitting I would have used the pool and hot tub plus the outside area for a barbeque.

Blaen Cedi Farm is the perfect loaction for exploring the Gower with its stunning seascapes and natural beauty. We used the car everyday due to my Mother's walking disability, however exploring on foot/bike is also possible from the farm.

There's everything you would need in the nearby village of Penclawwd - supermarket/foodhall, butcher's, pharmacy, Chinese, very good fish and chip shop plus Tandoori. We even had a Sunday roast in the local cafe.

I would thoroughly recommend staying at Blaen Cedi farm for exploring the Gower and South Wales with its easy access from to M4. The hospitality was second to none and was a true home from home. We would definitely return without a doubt.

My husband and I had a 4 night stay in the stable - wonderfully furnished with an eclectic mix of traditional and modern. There are some interesting pieces of old pottery, a wonderful dresser, huge bed, comfy chairs and sofa and all the modern conveniences you could wish for. The hot tub looked very inviting - what a shame I had decided not to take my bathing costume.
The area around the cottage is so peaceful we could have spent our time sitting on the patio, enjoying the view and relaxing. We ventured out, however, and discovered wonderful scenery and so many stunning beaches.
Jeff and Marion were delightful hosts - nothing was too much trouble - and there were lots of little touches which made you feel really welcome and special.
We found some lovely places to eat especially the King Arthur Hotel at Reynoldston.
We hope to return soon.
