“Wonderful!!”
Reviewed 19 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

For anyone wanting a true French countryside experience, this is the place. A genuine French home (formerly the rectory of the adjacent church), the rooms are spacious and inviting. The very best thing is the location though. Out in the country where you'll see wildlife, farm animals and STARS at night like no place else. If you decide to stay here, be sure to ask Phillipe to arrange for a private chef to prepare dinner one night. Bernard (the chef) came and prepared one of the best meals of our trip! The proprietor, Phillipe, is very personable and helpful and we all enjoyed spending a little time with him too!! I highly recommend this place!

“A place to visit again”
Reviewed 25 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

In the lead up to our holiday there were some minor questions we wanted to ask about coffee machine, bikes, etc. These were each dealt with promptly by the owner, Philippe.
It would have helped us to find La Presbytere if we had known that it was within 300 metres of Nadaillac-du-Rouge.
La Presbytere is spectacular with all the character you would expect from such a historic building. There has been much refurbishment - in very good taste, and suitable for visitors such as ourselves.
Philippe took a personal and continuing interest in our well being and satisfaction in the place. He was readily available to assist in any matters. He also was a fount of local knowledge.
Due to a recent change in his staff arrangements, we experienced a number of maintenance issues unrelated to the age of the building. For example, cleaning, air con and aspects of the pool maintenance.
Our party was made up of different parts with different needs and expectations. We all left having had a wonderful holiday together.

“Our House”
Reviewed 8 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This has been our second stay at the Presbytère and still it was as magical and wonderful as the first time.
The surroundings are just magnificent, the 17th century castle almost in front of you and on your left the gracious little gothic chapel whose bell rings faithfully twice a day. The village of Nadaillac is quiet and friendly with a simple but delicious restaurant; but do not worry you'llfind whatever you'll need in the town of Souillac fifteen minutes by car from the house. There is also a plethora of farmers markets in many villages that surround the house.

The Presbythere is majestuous manor like house and yet feels homey, intimate and comfortable, cosy but large enough so everybody has his/her own space.
Most rooms are ensuite, well appointed with sheets, comforters, blankets and plenty of towels in the bathrooms.
The kitchen is a delight with a beautiful view and has everything you'll need to prépare a fantastic diner ( if you are into it) or a delicious and complete breakfast with the croissants delivered to you door by the restaurant in town.

Marie and Maurice, the caretakers, will welcome you with their warmth and kindness and will be available if you'll need anything.

Philippe, the owner, is a pleasure to deal with, always answering any questions promptly. He will make sure that your sejour will be an unforgetable experience.

We really have nothing négative to say about our stay at the Presbythere and our roaming in the region. As a matter of fact we already have reserved the house for next year; it will be our third in a row.

Five stars all the way!

What a beautiful 2 weeks we had vacationing in "Le Presbytere" - it offers luxurious accommodation and the wonderful grounds and swimming pool meant the children had plenty to do.

We were very sorry to be leaving at the end of our stay.

“The Perfect Stay”
Reviewed 28 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

After too short a stay at Le Presbytere I was sorely tempted to forgo writing a review lest it become too difficult in the future to reserve time in this most desirable retreat..but that would be selfish.

Le Presbytere is truly a thing of beauty, peace and nourishment. In the body of this 16th/17th century home are all the comforts and modern amenities needed to put you completely at ease. There is precise attention to every detail that makes a stay memorable. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, Le Presbytere proves ideal for two couples, easily accommodates three couples, and yet is perfect for just one couple. The bedrooms are spacious with great beds, plush bedding, and each with a unique character. The main downstairs living room/dining room is large and very comfortable, with a great fireplace. The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities needed to prepare great meals from the unbelievably fresh local meats and produce.

On the grounds of Le Presbytere are everything needed for outdoor living. The beautiful swimming pool takes up only a small part of the fenced in (great for dogs) huge yard. With a barbeque pit and outdoor dining on the patio between the house and the pool, it is perfect for staying home and while also enjoying the out of doors. Being located in a small village well off of a main highway, the sounds of silence (if you don’t mind birds chirping) is the first thing you notice. The area is crisscrossed with little roads that provide great walks right outside the door.

With unfailing grace and joy the owner will provide his attention and services to you before and during your visit to ensure that you do have a memorable and pleasurable stay at his well deserved 5-star-rated Le Presbytere.

I could easily go on and on about it’s ideal location in the middle of one of the most historic areas of the Dordogne, the nearby medieval villages and castles, the prehistoric sites of inhabitants who knew a good thing 40,000 years ago. But instead I’ll just say go there, drop your suitcases and daily cares and simply enjoy your time in truly remarkable surroundings. By the time you leave, you’ll be happier and refreshed and looking forward to your return visit.

“Elegance in the Countryside”

To spend a month in the gorgeous area of the Dordogne is delightful...to spend it at Philppe Bappel's lovely home is even better!
From the minute we came to the immaculate, chic, and charming stone house near the town of Souillac, we knew that we found the right place to make our 'own".
Amid rolling hills and greenery, and only a short ride to restaurants and amenities, the house is perfectly situated for day trips to the myriad adventures in the area.
Great linens, towels, and appliances...beautiful furnishings and flower-filled gardens, topped by a sparkling pool...
A wonderful house, to be sure!

“Worth a long trip going there!”
Reviewed 12 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

It is pretty far to go there from Austria by car but this house is worth every kilometer. Having arranged a family meeting with 7 adult people there, we enjoyed a perfect environment in a wonderful touristic area. The house offers every comfort and is fully equipped with all the things one needs for a perfect holiday life, inclusive a perfectly treated swimming pool. However, it also offers enough rooms for individuality. Souillac is only a short ride for culture, restaurants and shopping. There was only one problem: we had decided only to stay for one week - we should have stayed much longer! Gerhard & Ingrid
