We heard about "We are Lisbon" personalized guides from a friend in San Francisco who had a great private tour with Pedro Ferreira in the spring of 2015. A few days before we arrived in Lisbon we emailed them and Pedro replied that he would be personally available for a car and driver/guide all day excursion from Lisbon to Sintra, with the exact itinerary to be determined when we met in Lisbon the morning of departure. Overall this was a terrific experience, as Pedro is personable, knowledgeable, accommodating, and speaks excellent English. He knows all the ins and outs of getting around a tourist area and we were able to avoid many of the crowds on a spring Saturday. He's one of the best guides we've had the pleasure of spending time with in the past 30+ years of international travel. And we really enjoyed extra time over lunch with him. Highly recommended!

We were a group of 6 collected from our accommodation in Lisbon by Pedro.
Our first stop was Pena Palace in Sintra. It's a beautiful palace with a very interesting history that Pedro filled us in on.
The weather was wet and windy, but this did not prevent us from having a wonderful time. Also, Pedro had supplied us with decent sized umbrellas, so we were quite comfortable. I would love to visit Pena Palace on a clear day, as I believe the views are fantastic.

We then went into Sintra and had lunch at Piriquita II. Very good food, delicious pastries and very cheap.
Sintra is quaint and what a pleasure just to walk around there and soak up the atmosphere. Again Pedro was very knowledgeable, telling us all sorts of interesting things about Sintra and the area.
We went off the beaten track, through a beautiful forest that felt like it was from a scene in Lord of the Rings. The weather had cleared up and we were able to walk around and enjoy nature.
Then on to Cabo de Roca - the westernmost point of Europe. It's quite something. The sea stretches out for miles in front of you and we got there towards the end of the day, as the sky was starting to change colour and everything felt peaceful.
Our journey back to Lisbon was along the coastline - the beautiful coastline, including Cascais. I spent most of the time staring out the window fantasizing about living in a house there.
Pedro is very knowledgeable about the area and the history. He's easy to talk to and we had many interesting conversations with him about Portugal, history and current events.

Pedro made us all feel very comfortable. At no time did we feel rushed to complete our tour. He had interesting stories and funny anecdotes that kept us entertained all day. We felt we were with an old friend and I cannot wait to get back to Lisbon and do another tour with Pedro.

My daughter and I were picked up at our hotel in Lisbon at 9.30 by Pedro for our days tour to Arrabida. We traveled over the 25th Bridge to our first stop Cristo Rei. We then went to Sesimbra where we stopped off for lunch then onto Arribida. Pedro is very knowledgable of the history of Portugal which he shared with us and this made our trip more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend anyone staying in Lisbon or surrounding area to do this days trip.

"We are Lisbon Tour" Guide Pedro made us fall in love with Lisbon! We were fortunate enough to have him as our personal tour guide for a short but wonderful few days. We explored not only the many attractions but he took us off the beaten track. Not only was Pedro punctual, he was friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, interactive, flexible, and funny. The knowledge and experience he shared with us left a memorable impression long after our family trip. Pedro made us fall in Love with Lisbon even more!!!! Leave it up to Pedro and he will take you places you've never thought you'd experience or explore before.

Booked a tour for some friends visiting Portugal and they loved it. I was impressed with the amount of information and details Pedro knows about my own city...then he said he had a degree in History and Art History and that explained a lot. Very easy going tour, interesting information and off the beaten track.

Before returning to Angola my friends booked another tour with We Are Lisbon to Fátima, I did't go on that one.
