Many thanks for a very pleasant night's stay. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the welcome a friendly one, and the breakfast outstanding. This was my children's first experience of a Scottish B&B, and their enthusiasm makes me think I've wasted a lot of money on expensive hotels over the years!

We had two nights here. Karen, the owner was friendly and welcoming and very kindly upgraded us to a double room at no extra cost even though we had only been able to book a twin room online. The room was a good size and very comfortable, with large en suite bathroom. The bathroom was a bit chilly as the heating was off and unfortunately the weather had turned colder. However, we did have a portable heater in our bedroom if we had wanted it. Karen was helpful in suggesting local restaurants. Our breakfast was very good but a little more choice of cereal might have been good. The only "downside" to this is that it is not clear from the pictures online just how close the hotel is to a road, which though it wasn't very noisy overnight, we did hear large lorries going past and traffic generally. Wax ear plugs sorted the problem though.

A wonderful B&B -- warm welcome, lovely building with period decor and high ceilings, help with logistics, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds, powerful shower. Everything you could want! We were there for a wedding and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. The tea room is fab as well -- try the lentil soup if it's on!

My wife and I booked at short notice because we had to journey far to attend a funeral in nearby Tayport. We had stayed there before a number of years ago and had fond memories of that stay. Karen, the owner, made us most welcome and the house was amazingly appointed in a traditional and homely manner and was spotless. The allocated room had quality matching furniture, was warm and comfortable with views over the landscaped gardens. Breakfast was set out at a time to suit our convenience. The food and service were first class and prepared personally by Karen. The house does not offer evening meals but this is not a problem because the nearby St Michael's Inn does offer a wide and varied menu and is in within easy walking distance. I marked down my sleep quality by one point because there is a road which runs alongside the House, but it is a country road and becomes quiet before midnight

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road side of the house.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I am glad that yourself and your wife enjoyed your stay with us but a shame it had to be under such sad circumstances. Unfortunately the road noise is out with my control and as you pointed out it is a country road and is only used to access a local village not far from us. I do hope you will choose to stay with us again if you find yourselves in the area.

We stayed at Tom and Karen Robson's peaceful Guest House for a long weekend. Presented in the best of Scottishness (we're from the capital) which we just love, the house is full of character, comfortable, clean and the hosts welcoming. We had a 'shot' at 2 rooms as I asked Karen, by email a few hours before arrival, if we could upgrade to a 'superior' room which we got to on our second and third nights. We were lucky as the House had other guests and I understand some who return, always a good sign (proximity to St Andrews University for parents visiting their kids there; then there's golfing - golfers catered for).
The first room, in the eaves of the house, was very comfortable, cosy, had a great shower cubicle in the en-suite (lashings of hot water available all weekend) and a lovely view (ignore the telephone pole) from the window towards Tayport area. The superior room was on the first floor (second to those Stateside) overlooked the front garden, was equally as comfortable but larger with a large bathroom (shower over the bath) en-suite. Choice of breakfasts (or tailor make your own from the choices) was good, beautifully cooked, tasty, well presented and served promptly. Karen, as if she doesn't have enough to do, also opens up a small cafe from Thursday to Sunday in the house (which House Guests can use at discounted prices). Well worth a visit because of the home baking (yummie) and fresh coffee/tea/juice etc.
For dinner or a lunch, St Michael's Inn is a slow 10 mins walk (even in the dark!) away for a lovely hearty meal at a reasonable price and friendly service should you not want to venture far.
All in all we would highly recommend a stay here as it really is a lovely house and the Hosts are truly welcoming and lovely people. A wee haven on the edge of the pinewoods.

Room Tip: For cosy go into the top of the house Room 5 (if you're able to climb the two flights of stairs...

stayed at this beautiful guest house for 2 nights whilst attending the Leuchars Air Show - absolutely beautiful house - spotlessly clean - lovely breakfast and nothing too much trouble for the owner to ensure a pleasant stay - would recommend to anyone visiting this part of Scotland.

We first booked to stay at Pinewood 4 years ago as we were going to Leuchars Airshow and have returned every year since. We were impressed with the location, friendly owners and cleanliness of the rooms. The location is ideal, the breakfast is first class and you can get excellent food at the local pub, The St.Michaels. We have always received a warm welcome and would not hesitate to recommend to others. We cannot wait to stay there again.
