“Great Rest Spot During A Trip”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014 via mobile

A free zoo small or not this was so much better than any little roadside break. Kids have animals to see and play areas. And did I mention "Free". Worth a quick stop at least.

“Ho-hum”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

Even though it's a free zoo, the number of animals is pathetic. Maybe that's a good thing as it seems like some of the current animals might want to be elsewhere--who knows. Not as much fun as in the old days. Nice if you want to do some walking and enjoy some of the scenery.

“Fun Family Outing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014

Nice park with more than one play area for children, as well as animals at an upper and lower level. There are more animals if you take the drive around behind the park. It is true that they don't have as many animals as they did at one time, still, for a free zoo, it is quite nice. Especially makes for a fun day with younger children. Older children love the old locomotive engine to climb on. The 5 cent carousel has been a highlight for children through the years, as well as the train that may be 25 or 50 cents. The mini golf course while not fancy, is neat because it is built representing historical information from the area. The park also has some of the finest tennis courts in the area with a covered viewing area. Many shelter houses available for group picnics. (Nice aquatic swimming pool on the premises as well). We rate it as excellent because it has more to offer than most small town parks.

“Sad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 November 2013

The zoo is so sad. Hardly an animals anymore. If you go downstairs there is only an Eagle & you MIGHT get to see the bear. The Park is ok. The kids love the merry go round & train. All in all for a free zoo, its ok (the kids like it). The train costs .25 & the merry go round is .05 so can't complain there.
