I knew how expensive it was when I booked the room but everything else was very expensive. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The food was mediocre at best and expensive. There was one of the patrons who decided that he would turn his kids loose in the waterpark and go to the parking lot to party. He opened the doors on his pickup, cranked up the stereo, and sat on the lawn and started drinking beer. We could hear his stereo from inside our room which wouldn't have been so bad be he was playing Rap music loaded with the "F" bomb. We were 50 yards away so I'm sure the kids at the miniature golf course next to where he was parked really enjoyed it. I guess it was too far to the lobby or his room so when he had to pee he just stood next to the truck and let it flow. At least his wife didn't go. After calling the front desk they at least sent somebody out to have him turn down his stereo. On a brighter note, if you ever need a shuttle or limousine while in Kansas City, call "Assured Transportation Service". It's a family owned and operated business that was reasonably priced. For about the same cost as a cab ride, we were met as we got off the plane, helped with our luggage, and taken to the lodge in a spotless Lincoln Towncar. The lady that drove us, Naomi, was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable about the area. One of our group was injured on the trip so we were running late when we had to go back to the Airport. She got us there on time and safely. Two days later she called San Diego to check on the status of the man that was injured. Excellent businesswoman with outstanding vehicle.

The rooms were nice we had the one with bunkbeds and a twin for the kids kind of like a fort with their own tv. The queen bed was nice but the sofa sleeper was awful . The indoor swim park was good 3 nice big slides and lots to do for the kids. Everything seemed like it had a price some of which is a understandable but for $384 a night you think they would give you breakfast. The staff was very courteous and accomodating.

Let me start by saying we used to live in VA and visiting Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg was always one of our favorite family vacations. This Kansas City location has some issues. The water park is very limited compared to the Williamsburg property. We had many problems with our room 1)the shower handle came off in our hand when we tried to use it, 2)the sink drain very slowly to not at all, 3)the beds were very uncomfortable, my husband could bearly stand up straight in the morning, the springs just seem to be worn out and beds need to be replaced we were rolling in to the center of our bed, 4)the blanket on my daughters room smelled like urine, which I assume means that they clean the sheets but not the blankets between visitors... yuck 5)the noise in our room from the people above us was crazy, sounded as if they were doing gymnastics 6)we couldn't order movies in our room because "the system was down"
Overall we had a good time because we were all together as a family but we drove from Albuquerque, NM and this trip killed the great memories of our past vacations to Great Wolf.

Room Tip: Get a room on a top floor to avoid load people above you

We took a family trip April 2011 to GWL in Kansas City. We enjoyed our trip for the most part, and found the hotel packed with activities. We had a VERY noisy family above us, and had to complain every night we were there to get them to stop jumping on the beds after 11pm. The waterslides were fun, but the water could have been just a few degrees warmer. I personally preferred the lazy river, which had the warmest water. The water basketball is fun, and many children and adults enjoyed the "Wipeout" style log crossing. The food was average fare, drinks were ok. I really liked that they have a mini-fridge and microwave in the rooms. The beds, though, were clearly sagging heavily in the middle. I thought the overall price was a little high, but my son still considers it "paradise on Earth", which is why we will go back again. (we did go back in Feb. 2012, we had quiet neighbors, and again enjoyed our stay for the most part. There was a severe shortage of rafts this time though)

Room Tip: This hotel has children running through the halls all day & much of the evening, as the pool doe...

Let me first say we had a good time. The front desk was wonderful. The room smelled funky when we first walked into it. I am guessing it is that always damp type thing but we opened our door to the balcony quite a bit to air it out. Something on the wall in the bathroom and sink drained very slow. The beds were ok but not great. The breakfast buffet was good.

The water park was good and they have a lot of lifeguards which is great. The restrooms used to have two water extraction machines but one was missing and the other out of order. I did notice several spots on the floor of the kiddie pool that look like they are worn down.

We have been to the GWL in Grapevine and it was so great that it makes the KC property disappointing. The wristbands at Grapevine do your room key and waterpark and purchasing so you don't have to carry money or room key cards. The shower facilities are private stalls instead of one big room. If I were equal distance from them I would go to Grapevine. Since I am much closer to KC I am sure we will go there again just would like to see them do some updating.

This was a spring break getaway for the kids, although it was far drive from Denver, it was still fun. My children enjoyed the pool but we all agreed it was more suited to younger children. They liked the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine Texas better. The amenties were nice, we enjoyed our balcony over looking the raceway and being able to walk to dinner or take a short drive to find cheaper eating establishements.

We spent a Sunday night at the lodge and had a great time. The crowd wasn't as bad as a Friday/Saturday night and the price was cheaper too! It's nice that you can stay the next day at the water park until they close even though you have to be out of your room by 11 AM. Overall the place was clean. Staff was friendly. We requested extra towels and we received them within 5 minutes. I was curious to see what we would find after reading some of the other reviews that weren't very positive. I would agree the rooms could use some updating but overall condition was fine. It's not a new facility so it's not fair to expect new conditions. Our primary purpose was to spend time at the indoor water park. The water park was great for kids of all ages. Even mom and dad had fun on the water slides. Our children range in age from 11-22 and all had a great time. The younger kids did the Magicquest and really had a good time doing that. I even saw some teenagers playing it. You do have to purchase the wands and then then pay for the game as well. It's a bit pricey. There are no bargains at this place but again, that's sort of what you expect.

Room Tip: Rooms at the end of the long halls are good if you want to avoid some of the noise from kids running...
