My "kids" are 16, 18 and 20, so were a little old, but the oldest (who had never been) wanted to go. We had a Groupon for a $199 room, which was a great price. Boys didn't do the water park (although 2 have gone with friends before and loved it). Instead, they spent their time and money in the arcade.
LOTS of activities for younger kids. Saw many families doing the MagiQuest, a wizard-themed scavenger hunt. Seemed like a good end-of-day activity to wind the kids down.
I could see this being a great location for a family reunion. Each room had microwave and fridge and you could bring in outside food. Hotel map showed a couple of meeting rooms that could likely be used for larger gatherings. When we were there (night before Thanksgiving), there were four rooms together that obviously had the same family in them.
Rooms aren't anything fancy (flat screen TVs but small), but my impression is they don't expect you to be in your rooms much.
