Owner description: For real surf and real fun, spend the day at Kenwood Cove - Salina's premier aquatic park, featuring thrill rides, 1,400 feet of slides, a children's play area, and fun attractions for the whole family. Plunge 35 feet from one of the park's four adventure slides. Drop 12 feet then swirl around the tornado slide before falling into a pool below. Hop on an inner tube and glide 275 feet down the river slide into the Lil' Smoky Lazy River. Or, catch a wave in the wave pool. Plus, so much more! Relax, soak up the sun, and spend the day at Kenwood Cove, conveniently located in Salina, Kansas, at the I-70, I-135 interchange. The family-friendly, low-cost aquatic park features Caribbean-inspired décor, lush foliage, and crashing waves, for an authentic island experience.

“Best value overall”

I researched waterparks all over Kansas and even some in Oklahoma and Missouri. For the money, You just can't beat Kenwood cove for what you get. They might not have billion dollar stuff here, but their water slides are more than adequate. My two favorites were the Tornado (I call it the toilet) and the blue slide. The Tornado sends you flying around the rim of a bowl at high speed until you plop down the drain. The blue slide has you going through a dark tunnel that twists and turns at breakneck speed to the pool below. The wild rapids was OK, it needed to be a little longer or perhaps end in a steep drop. The wave pool was good. The swimming pool was good with a high diving board. You can do flips and stuff of the diving board with nobody having a cow (Rock River Rapids!!!!) The only thing you'll pay up the wazoo for is concessions. But we all knew that. But there are ways around this.

For those of us in the midwest who are feeling the economic crunch and don't have a lot of money to spend but want great thrills, Kenwood Cove is the place to go. It is by no means, a Wet N Wild or a White Water Bay... but it won't leave you and your family panhandling on the streets after leaving either.

I hope to god that they don't raise admission prices. I paid close to 25 dollars for me, my wife and my two girls.

“Great price, nice place to spend the afternoon.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2013

The Kenwood Cove Water Park in Salina, Ks was a nice place to spend the afternoon with family. The price was phenomenal at $18 for two adults and two kids. We went on a Saturday, so it was very crowded, and not many tubes were available. The wave pool was a bit underwhelming as well, but nice for children who may not be strong swimmers. Lifeguards were everywhere and very attentive. Snack bar prices were lower than most. Lockers were free and you bring your own lock. Restrooms include showers and were very clean. Great water slides and not a super long wait even though the park was full. Would recommend!

“New Facility”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2013

Nice new facility for Salina but something has to be done to address the theft from the lockers. My advice if you go take only what you need. Take the risk of securing stuff in the car instead of in the lockers.

“Kenwood water park, Salina, Ks”

Nice little water park with the usual slides, lazy river, etc. Several, attentive lifeguards. Not much for a snack bar. Be ready to bump elbows as this place is very crowded.

“Cant keep sight of your children!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2012

There is more concrete than water. The life guards don't pay any attention to swimmers. The toddler water area is right beside the 4ft deep float river with nothing to stop a young child from falling or jumping in & It is the furthest away from the bathrooms. If your child gets away from you, it is very hard to find them again. There is a back crushing & scrapping slide in the middle of the park that blocks your view. My son still has a scar from it. The zero entry pool is very small. The park is always packed so expect long lines to the slides & not much floating room. Only certain rafts may be taken down the slide & the park only had one double rider raft. There is also never any chairs. It is very inadequate & I believe dangerous.
