I researched waterparks all over Kansas and even some in Oklahoma and Missouri. For the money, You just can't beat Kenwood cove for what you get. They might not have billion dollar stuff here, but their water slides are more than adequate. My two favorites were the Tornado (I call it the toilet) and the blue slide. The Tornado sends you flying around the rim of a bowl at high speed until you plop down the drain. The blue slide has you going through a dark tunnel that twists and turns at breakneck speed to the pool below. The wild rapids was OK, it needed to be a little longer or perhaps end in a steep drop. The wave pool was good. The swimming pool was good with a high diving board. You can do flips and stuff of the diving board with nobody having a cow (Rock River Rapids!!!!) The only thing you'll pay up the wazoo for is concessions. But we all knew that. But there are ways around this.
For those of us in the midwest who are feeling the economic crunch and don't have a lot of money to spend but want great thrills, Kenwood Cove is the place to go. It is by no means, a Wet N Wild or a White Water Bay... but it won't leave you and your family panhandling on the streets after leaving either.
I hope to god that they don't raise admission prices. I paid close to 25 dollars for me, my wife and my two girls.
