Food was inconsistent. Started with the salt pork, two of the pieces had no meat, only fat. The shrimp scampini was pretty good. Although my server was very attentive, but the food was incredibly slow due to a corporate dinner. My dessert was comped. Chocolate cake was good.

We had Sunday brunch at Yia-Yia's and found it excellent. Food was well prepared and the selection included traditional choices such as Eggs Benedict as well as some interesting cheeses, sausages and other non-traditional choices.

We visited this place on Sunday at about 11 having made a reservation the previous night. There were two people at the reception, one of them showed us to the table. But they didn't care to show us around what is where, etc. Not that we expected someone to read out the name of each dish, but just an overview for first timers would have been great. We didn't find any names at the dishes and when inquired one of the staff replied 'no the dishes aren't labeled'. To me personally this is a violation of a basic rule of buffets. Not naming dishes may be acceptable at places like Giant Corral (even they do have some dishes indicated but not all) but not at a place that pretends to be a fine dining restaurant. It also shows lack of respect for customers who are viewed as indiscriminate hoggers rather than discretionary eaters. This may suit either regulars who know what they are eating or those who just pile on what they see without worrying what type of meat it is.
Service, responsiveness, food are not worth the price they charge.

Today's dining experience was downright bad. We ordered the house soup, a portobella wrap, and a turkey sandwich, The wrap's content was sopping wet and dripped heavily on the plate. Too much vinegar made the thing almost uneatable. The turkey in the sandwich was pressed meat which is not what we have had in the past. Yes, actual sliced turkey breast. The soup was terrible being basically broth with some tough chicken pieces and a scattering of vegetables. Finally, the coffee is not the robust fare that we had expected.

This restaurant, at one time, offered a very nice dining experience. In the past year or so, we have already had two disappointing meals there (it's under new management). But, today, we thought that we would give them another try. Bad choice.

Yia Yia's is one of my favorite places to eat in this city. I like it because there is always some taste or entrée that is unexpectedly wonderful. The ambience is relaxing, but vibrant. It is always quiet enough to enjoy a conversation, but there is also a feeling of energy. I love their humuus, their gnocchi, scallops. They have a gorgeous patio.
