My wife and I stayed at the treasure back in May, and it really is a place we'll never forget.

The boat trip over to the island is fine. The boat is probably not as high end as the hotel, but hey, it's free and this is Thailand.

On arrival to the hotel, we were met by a great member of staff, and then shown to our villa. The villa was amazing. Just absolutely beautiful, with a lovely bathroom, outdoor shower, and the most comfortable bed in Thailand.

We were lucky enough that there were only 3 couples staying at the hotel, so my wife and I had the infinity pool to ourselves which was amazing.

The staff at the hotel were really friendly and attentive. The food from the restaurant was beautiful, and not badly priced given that you're a captive audience. They also had a great cocktail happy hour with great mojitos.

We wished we had stayed here longer, however we were at the end of an three month trip and on a tight budget.

If your in koh samui, take a look at getting out of the fast lane and go to koh mat sum. Its well worth the trip.

My friend and I choose this hotel as our last destination before returning to Germany! It was "la Crème de la crème"! Lovely location, awesome infinity pool with cold salty water for the hot temperatures, rooms are incredibly lovely, and away from the always crouded touristic places! Some personel ath the restaurant should improve a bit their English, but apart from that it was the perfect closure for our 3-week trip around Thailand!

I'm stay one night at Pool villa room. The hotel is very nice and cozy and take 10 minute from samui island. This is new hotel which you cannot miss. the room is functional and well maintain. You can go snorkeling or do island hopping around the island. there are small islands close to matsum that you can go hindaway in the island. The price is reasonsable and service is very friendly. Thanks The treasure that takecare my holidays.

Its so refreshing to find a real resort away from the bedlam of Koh Samui !
The Treasure is a real gem located on a small island off the south eastern tip of Koh Samui called Koh Madsum originally, the Pearl farming center of the fifties. The staff are charming, the resort is well designed, the bungalows are private & sumptuous & the dining excellent . The is no noise ( it's the only resort) so, in terms of peace & quite it's sublime !

We spent 6 days on koh Madsum in April 14, we loved the secluded tranquil island experience!
The villas are brand new and of very good quality and design. We did not stay in a private pool villa but regreted it as they look amazing!
There is nice snorkeling off the resort beach and great snorkeling a short kayak or long tail boat trip away, off nearby Koh Tan island.
There are several free boat trips a day between Madsum and Samui which makes it easy to plan a day on Samui.
Service was very welcoming and friendly and thee rooms were very clean.
We definitely recomend The treasure if you are after a lovely boutique hotel on a small unfrequented island!

Room Tip: Go for the pool villas if you can!

We stayed here for a one night escape from it all and chose here as there was a 50% sale off room rates and it sounded lovely.
Unfortunately the whole resort only seemed about 90% complete. Barbed wire as a barrier on our pool villa, wasn't at all what we expected as its a 5 star resort. The restaurant staff were pleasant, but not fully trained and not enough staff, we waited one hour for our food and there were only 6 other the restaurant. Nice stay but didn't live up to our expectations and seems more like a 4 star resort.
Glad we didn't have children with us, as there is very little to do and the sandy beach is full of coral, so not ideal for swimming, as you get cut feet going into the water, which is a shame.

We spent the days with friends, all love the location. The resort is 15 mins from Koh Samui by speed boat, thus, it's quiet and the water is very clear, the sand is very smooth like the powder.

The resort has 2 beaches, Reception beach and Coral Restaurant beach. We stayed in Beach Front 2 Bedroom Pool Villa, which as amazing. The villa was completely private, has its own fence but very close to the Coral Restaurant and main swimming pool, which we sometimes spent our day there.

Staff is friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was great and has something for everyone. The first night we had breakfast made to order, while the second night we had buffet breakfast which great for both days.

The pool in our villa was very clean and it's convenience for us, while the main pool gave you the ocean view which was fantistic.

The spa is also available, but we did not try it.

We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Select pool villa or tent villa

The Treasure is an all-villa resort comprised of 37 units and located on the untouched island of Koh Madsum. Opened in mid-2013, the property boasts a wide range of facilities and services for guests to enjoy from this intimate island destination. The Treasure's design incorporates high-quality materials including teak wood, bamboo, limestone and marble, with many open-air venues from which to enjoy the numerous views from either side of the island. All villas offer outdoor Salas, while others come with beachfront views and private swimming pools. The resort spans from one side of Koh Madsum to the other, where guests can enjoy a coral reef and white sand beach. Noticeably absent are many of the features that have become notoriously well known to islands in the Gulf of Siam: there are no bank machines, fast food chains, shopping centers, cars, or even private residences on Koh Madsum. What you will find is The Treasure Resort, a haven of serenity surrounded by two stunning shores, one with a white sand beach and the other with a coral reef. Here, we encourage you to get lost so that you can find yourself again. Take a step back in time and relive the beauty and calm of island life as it was meant to be.
