I've been here twice and I love it. The lake has some of the most unusal and rarest species of fish in the world. The balance of catch is perfectly weighted in my opinion. Novices are in with a good chance of catching some great fish, but put in a little effort and you can be heavily rewarded. Its worth contacting Stuart before you go if there's certain fish you want to go for or if you want to increase your chances and options by taking some of your own bait or tackle.
In 2 1 week fishing trips here, Ive caught a 110lb Stingray, 2 arapaima of 150lb and 170lb, 2 mekong both 120lb, siamese carp to 67lb, red tail catfish to 60lb, a beautiful 25lb julians prize carp, and a total of over 12 species of fish. I would seriously recommend coming here for at least 3 days as a minimum. I've had days where I've just had a couple of fish to 25lb, and nice as it is, most people come with higher ambitions. Invest some time and effort and you'll be heavily rewarded with some amazing fishing.
I guess I should also mention that the restaurant turns out some great thai and british food, the accomdation is really good, and there's even a nice swimming pool for cooling off. Its the perfect fishing resort. Don't think about going, just book it.More
