We came into the lodge from a drive going from Florida to Buffalo. We had a late arrival and made the booking over the phone. Nancy from the resort was nice to my girlfriend, and we booked a room after speaking with her. she did mention its hard to find and our phones won't work and the road isn't on GPS. This is not true, it is on a
Modern garmin GPS, they chose to rename the road and didn't mention the "old" name ( my GPS has 2010 maps). We got an email to confirm, and it mentioned going to 777 natural bridge road rogers, KY for extra info. All it needed to say in the email was go 8 more miles on that road and look for signs if the office there is closed. The place is very hard to find and at late night the previously mentioned address isn't staffed. It is close to rt 715 and rt 11. In my GPS (garmin with 2010 maps) the road was named manheim road. It appears it was renamed by the resort to cliff view road and this added to the confusion. So we arrived in the area at 11pm and finally got to bed around 2 am after a lot of confused and frustrated driving around. The gas stations around were closed and its in the middle of no where- no one to ask where to go...also if the welcome email included GPS co-ordinates these would have been helpful.

The room was not clean. There were hairs all over the bathroom and the shower was clogged with hair and hairs in the tub. If it wasn't 2am and the desk unstaffed at check in I would have asked for another room. The view from the room in the morning was great, the rest of the resort seemed nice and the place
looks like somewhere I would want to come back to now that I know where it is. It's a lot more like an upgraded cabin in the woods type place than a luxury hotel and I'm cool with that. If it wasn't for the trouble finding it and the hair issue, I'd give it 5 stars.

We had a great time. The room was excellent!! We stayed at the Inn and our room's view was fantastic. The room was beautiful with wood floors, walls, ceiling, and furniture. All electronic and bathroom items worked and had plenty of clean towels. The bed was comfortable, and the satellite TV worked great. The service was great, from check in to check out, thanks Nancy for taking care of us. We will definately be back!!

Room Tip: Look at the map to make sure you know where the nearest food/gas/supply businesses are located. Onc...

Our family and another couple stayed in the cabin. It was so fun- day one the dads took the girls fishing & caught lots of fish & did a bit of canoeing. Day 2 lots of hiking and beautiful views at Natural bridge & Chimney top - day 3 swam in red river & took a short rappel. Loved soaking my tired legs in hot tub after a beautiful day of hiking. Memoriable for sure.

I really liked this "lodge" atmosphere. The value for the price was excellent! Even though it is off the "beaten path", it was still a great place to stay.(It is really only about 10 min from the Red River Gorge park and Inn there, where they have a restaurant for breakfast) It was clean and seemed like it was fairly new. I loved the wrap around porch and porch swings for each room! The property has amazing views and it is right at the end of the last zip line for Red River Gorge Ziplines! I will definitely stay here again the next time I come back!

Room Tip: We were in 104, overlooking the "hollar" as our zip line guide said...: ) Great view. Re...

Thank you, yes our inn is a great place to stay for people coming in to Zipline or go on the Hummer tour. We have a restaurant onsite also, we have fishing ponds, hiking trail and magnificent view from our lodge. Rates are reasonable so contact us if you just need to get away to the mountains. We are very close to the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park areas.

My wife and I stayed in this area during the week for our 25th wedding anniversary. After 2 nights in a cabin nearby we stumbled upon this incredible resort. Being during the week and early in the season the resort had very few visitors. We decidied to spend a night in the lodge after a brief tour and we loved it. The grounds of the resort are sprawling and gorgeous, we spent a while basking in the sun and fishing at the small lake by the resort. We watched the Zip Line staff receive rigourous training right from our deck at the lodge. We saw the Humm Vee's being tuned up and getting ready for action. We drove around and explored the grounds, other ponds, and some very peaceful spectacular views. The resort is gated and we felt very safe and secure. This place has alot to offer and is amazing. We ate a fantastic dinner at Mark's Mountain BBQ right at the resorts welcome center. The lodge itself was beautiful. I can see where it would be suitable for large groups but there was only one other couple there during our stay and it was very quiet and peaceful. If you want complete privacy and quiet then I would recommend a cabin rental. The staff was fantastic and very informative.

Room Tip: I dont believe there is an elevator so I would recommend the first floor.

attended a wedding at this lodge. What a great place. We will be planning a family reunion there this summer. One of the most relaxing vacations, for a wedding, I have had. Make sure you ride the Zipline on the property when you are not fishing.

Room Tip: All rooms, I think have access to the wrap around porch. The second level is the best for views.

We were aware that there would be a youth group there the first night so noisy we didn't get to sleep until 3am to be awoken at 8am, thankfully they left the next morning and we thought it would be great only about 2 rooms were rented got into bed tired from hiking all day around 11pm to be jarred out of bed by the TV next room blaring and people showering and talking loudly, then they just left, no one worked the lobby it was a deserted lodge. We had ants in bathroom and light from the downstairs lobby shone through our fireplace right into my son's eyes in bed. The door adjoining our from the next room lit up from the "visitors"
and our entrance door you could see light from. Another 3 people walked through the Inn to see what it was like (didn't seem safe) the walls seem to be a 1/4" thick. It is decorated nicely and looks good, but there is alot to be desired. Looks can be deceiving. Only get about 6 channels on tv.

sceniccabin, Manager at Cliffview Resort, responded to this reviewResponded 27 October 2011

Needs clarification on "Needs Work" as we have many groups who utilize this facility and it is booked full on weekends and no other complaints ever received. Secondly, on weekends this facility is mostly "large group rentals" for occassions like weddings, reunions, church retreats, scouts, corporate functions. These groups rent facility for entire weekend. It is made clear that there is no front desk staff for these occassions. Notices are posted throughout building listing numbers for assistance & a staff member resides at facilty to assist guests. So not sure how this individual did not realize the parameters but someone in his party in charge of the reservation did.
