I've stayed at this Kentucky State Park a couple of times for business, and really haven't had the opportunity to use it for recreation; in this very rural part of the state, there are few other options. Though the room was clean, the linens, blankets, and bed cover really could stand a good cleaning. There was a bit of a smell to them. The room is small and fuctional. If you are booking, make sure if you have a handicapped traveler that you request an upper floor--- which is the parking lot level. The ground level rooms don't have easy accessibility. Upper floor rooms have balconies, the lower level has patios. The rooms look out into a thick wooded area and farmland, not offering the vista views of a lake like many other Kentucky parks.

On this particular visit, the Wi Fi was not working in any of the buildings, so I wasn't able to keep up with work.

The buffet for dinner was disappointing. I don't feel I got $20 worth, including drink and tip. There were plenty of offerings, but it was all rather luke warm and the fish was dry. The restaurant does not offer much of a view either, though there is a terrace with a few tables.

Like all Kentucky state parks, smoking is not allowed in any of the buildings.

We go here several times a year. Mostly camping. The campground is small but adequate. Nice nature programs by both Tierneys. We have stayed in the lodge when our town has had two ice storms over the years. Some how the lodge doesn't loose power. The staff here is great. The older servers have mostly gone and young ones have replaced them. Not as attentive as the ones that had been there for years.
The buffet is always tasty. We come just for the catfish. The show last night a murder mystery was entertaining. They come with different shows several times a year. There was a good crowd of around 70. The gift shop is the best part. From products made in ky to tshirts & toys for the kids.
We so go every year to the battle of blue licks for the reenactment . They have presentations about life in those times, a potter, vendors and touring the museum. There is also a service by the DAR and others at the battle monument. It is in August. Check this lodge out!!!

Stayed in a lodge suite for 2 nights including New Year's Eve. The suite was nice but definitely needed some updating. Old tv, furniture, window treatments and...wait for it....bed that comes out of the wall! Yep when you walk in, you think "where will we sleep, etc?" But then (just like when we were on our honeymoon 12 yrs ago) we realize its not a pull OUT bed but rather a pull DOWN bed. Brought back some very special memories which were nice to have on our romantic NYE getaway. The room has a kitchenette but very only 1 dish (a plate). Good thing we brought our own knife to slice the cheese we brought for our cheese and cracker snack. Thanks for the plate! The rooms gets 3 of 5 stars from us.

The staff was very friendly once we were here but a little difficult to get info from over the phone. And upon arrival two women were busy talking and laughing about something on their computer for several minutes while we stood at the front desk waiting to be acknowledged. The gift shop lady is the jewel of the place. She had a sign out saying "closed" for the day (the only day we could shop) but upon seeing us peeking in the window, she let us in and fired up her register just for us. She gained a couple other customers walking by as well. She gets 5 stars!

The winter one through the snow covered park was the highlight of our trip. We would like to come back with the kids in the summer for camping and all the fun outdoor activities.

The NYE comedy show gets 4 stars. Funny guy but we were definitely the youngest ones there by about 30 years! NYE buffet was great! Meat galore and the salad bar was VERY GOOD. had lunch in the restaurant. Since its the only place in town to eat, we recommend it.

All in all, we had a FANTASTIC time and we may come back w the kids.

We really enjoyed our stay in one of the cottages at Blue Licks Battlefield State Park. The lodge is close by and serves a good buffet. There is little to do in the off-season (fall) but that was fine with us. Quiet abounds. The cottages overlook the Licking River and are spacious and clean. The staff is sort of typical for state park resorts throughout the country from our experience: not particularly interested in being cheerful and really helpful but certainly "adequate". The cleaning staff were very good. We would return to Park for another rest, relaxation and book-reading experience.

This is our favorite midway stop between central Ohio and Tennessee. It's obvious that the property is older ( bathroom fixtures, etc.), but is immaculately clean. The beds are comfortable, but nothing special. The heat/AC unit needs a good cleaning, but otherwise the room was very clean. We have stayed on the ground level each time, and the patios are very nice....private, too.

They have a restaurant there-- the food was pretty good, but the buffet set up is not great. Desserts were at hand level of little kids, and you can imagine that no one wanted to touch the desserts after they had been handled and coughed on by little ones.

The hotel is in an interesting state park with a museum that is definitely worth a look. Not too far down the road, there's a shop that sells all kinds of concrete art and statuary for outdoors.

Overall, you can't go wrong here. The staff is nice and there is also a neat gift shop.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have patios that are very nice for relaxing, chatting, eating, etc.

We spent a night here and one other KY state resort park in February as a get-away and to take advantage of the winter rates. The room was spacious, modern (except for the TV), clean and quiet and the private balcony provided a nice view of the rolling countryside near the Licking River. The food in the dining room was above average and the staff in the dining room and at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Unlike most of the KY resort parks, this one doesn't offer much in the way of natural attractions but it is one of the newer lodges and is a good place to get away for a while.

We went to Blue Licks Battlefield State Park for a short week-end getaway. We had never been to this state park before. We found the Lodge to be very clean and spacious. I think the lodge room was one of the biggest I have stayed in and I have visited many of the state parks in Kentucky. The outdoor patio was delightful with the woods and changing leaves to enjoy. The dining room at the lodge was very large and the food was great. What also stood out was the friendliest of the staff. Everyone was very helpful and courteous. I was very impressed with the lodge and the park as well. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing weekend retreat.

Room Tip: The rooms on the bottom floor have steps down - the rooms on top floor are easier to take in luggage...
