Kochi and seamless service ironically do not go hand in hand. Ramada Resort seems to be in a different world altogether though. Since the time you step in till you check out, you are really looked after. Easily the best staff you will come across in Kerela, prompt responses, excellent housekeeping .......... the list can go on. Rooms are fabulously spacious so is the facility, greenery in abundance, pool is ultra modern and unique with the backwaters in the backdrop. Restaurant Fennel is terrific, though Club Hunderd11 was almost dead till 9PM even on a saturday. It would have been an excellent rating but to the Weekend Kerela buffet, the local cuisine was not a favorite with us and we had to go for a-la-carte instead which was really stupid. Overall, wish our stay was longer however worth a second sweet shot.

Room Tip: Go for upgrades to pool facing rooms for a better scenary

A bumpy late night ride and absolutely late 2 am check-in into the Ramada ,Kochi was superceded by a prompt Reception And an upgrade to their cottage rooms, rounded up nicely by great hot meal of toast and tea which arrived with us as we entered the lovely room.Although we travelled away the next morning after a delicious breakfast spread and arrived back the night before our departure,The Ramada ,did not fail to please. The infinite quiet and calm of this sprawling layout with its serpentile pool and necklace of backwaters pervades your senses immediately making one wish they had stayed just a little longer.
The Fennel is their multicuisine restaurant.Bright and enchanting as it's surroundings. The chef Mr.Rajaratnam knocked my South Indian DNA out with his magical twists of their famous Briyanis, fish, and authentic vegan dishes.A shot of bitter gourd juice with Tabasco was a breakfast offering at the buffet guaranteed to kick start and never stop your day but faint heart yours Truely vehemently declined.
They stole by heart remembering to leave chocolates when they turned down the sheets at night.A lost art in many hotels.

Yes,it is far out of town and the airport but then so are most of the better hotels in a Kochi. If dead quiet and rest and gastronomical pampering is what you need ,it's a definite consider!

Place did not disappoint. We upgraded to a superior suite which was definitely worth the extra. We had a great balcony with views over the swimming pool and lake. Staff were great and could not do enough for us - very polite. One thing though, they were perhaps a little over attentive in the fennel restaurant - we could have done with them leaving us alone a little as they kept coming over it seemed every 5mins to ask how the food was. Only a small thing though! We also did a great tour of kochi with the taxi man for four hours, which we booked through the hotel. Overall excellent place to stay!

I was at the Ramada Resort in March with a group of friends. We rented out four rooms. The ambiance was good, but the rude behavior of employees spoiled everybody's mood. Our simple requests for swimming pool rings were turned down in a rude way. We were talking very politely, but was stunned with the response. I would recommend this hotel only if you are ready to experience these types of behavior. Food at the restaurant was pricey, but not tasty!!!We wanted to enjoy some really authentic food, but instead the buffet had items like sweet prawn curry!!!

Room Tip: There are other good hotels in Kochi.

Dear Ms. Pooja,

Namaskaram,

I regret that you were not happy with the services of the pool boy. I have spoken to the front office manager who is in charge of the pool. He has taken corrective actions so that it is not repeated again.

We look forward to having you here again. I assure you that we will give you the best of the services .

We stayed with our four young children (6,5 and 3 years and 11 months) at the Ramada resort. Not high season but very pleasant for the entire family. Relaxed sorroundings, great food, beautiful pool and a very professional spa staff. In addition to this the reception staffers were extremely friendly and helpful. Especially Sabija. Thank you

The property is not in the city and also not very far from the city. Best for value for money. Food quality and services was good. The spa was bit expansive which i think is not worth the money. Other than that this is a good property.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Feel the silence of the shores Ramada Resort is a poem. Written on the banks of a tranquil lake. You find the island of silence just 17 km from Kochi, Kerala's metropolis, and 2 km from a busy national highway. The Kumbalam backwaters is part of the famed Vembanad Lake. As the gates open, a sudden change in landscape, a riot of greenery, and silence, greet you. A harmonious mix of exhibitive desert trees and the natural flora of Kerala instil in you the same feeling you experience while watching your child take its first steps: excitement! Pass through the front office that exudes the Keralan hospitality, laced with the professionalism of Ramada, and walk into one of those 24 pool-facing villas. The long walk itself is a refreshing change, compared with boxing oneself into the usual elevator. The greenery soothes the nerves of even a weary traveller. You have started experiencing the space. And silence. Oh! Its space everywhere. Spread across 7 acres of land, Ramada Resort has only 42 living spaces. You would perhaps enjoy the largest per capita space on a resort in Kerala! Before stepping into your room, you find the ground floor is just floor, and not a room! Your kids may want to stay back and play. Let them, and you allow yourself into your cottage. In the super luxury of the room, you will come across the best amenities. Open the glass door and step into the balcony. The meandering pool stretches itself to 110 metres in front of you. Its waters almost touch the lake, which touches the eastern horizon for sure. The enormous expanse of the backwater, lined with coconut trees, will make you feel the thrill of floating freely on a ship's deck, a la Jack and Rose. It's a play of water, mixed with serenity. You feel engulfed by infinity. Almost. In the morning, the sun rising from across the waters will greet you on the balcony. You may feel like doing a sun-salutation, the most beneficial yoga posture. The fisherman in his canoe rowing against the myriad hues of morning sun will be a picture postcard scene that reminds you of the painting competition in your school days. In the evening, the reflections of the setting sun on the serene waters would take you to the empire of silence. The water, layers and layers of it, may tempt you to try some water therapy. Walk into the spa, Kerala's largest. It offers more than 25 varieties of herbal and western massages. Treat yourself to foot reflexology and leave the seat with every organ in your body relaxed. Or try Thai massage. Or Balinese. Treat your senses to the aroma of freshly fried seafood. With your stomach directing you towards the restaurant, the turn in the corridor next to it opens up suddenly into an empty expanse of greenery. The deja vu feeling of having one's own extra space suddenly overpowers the unassuming traveller. It takes some time to adjust to this heavenly feeling and finally when lunch is served, you realise even time has no boundaries in this part of the world and stands still. ... more   less
