We stayed one night for a family wedding, where we had sole use of the hotel. Despite the rainy weather, we quickly felt at home and were warmly welcomed by staff who were discreet yet friendly. The grounds, which admittedly we viewed from inside the car and the hotel, were really beautiful. The food was excellent and we were particularly impressed with the precisely cooked rare roast beef, which is quite an achievement for a party of at least 70 guests. The rooms are large and very elegantly appointed. Touches such as the turn-down service and having your bed made while you are at breakfast ensure you feel well looked after. The house feels more like a large country home than a hotel.
One very small criticism - 3 guests were coeliac and asked for gluten free food, yet there was no bread available - surely in this day and age, with gluten free bread in every supermarket, this could have been provided?
However, we will certainly return!More
