This is really an excellent hotel in the middle of the green nature and hospitality of Bali. Definitely suitable for couple. Room was nicely decorated so that you will really feel back to nature. We had our own pool, but they also have bigger pool. Try the spa, so relaxing...

Enjoy 2-3 night stay before you move to the rocking Kuta or other nice places in Bali.

We are now leaving the Maya Ubud where we have been for the past 6 nights. We have had an amazing time. Our first day was filled with lots of interesting facts when we were very luckily to have Winana take us for a 3.5 hour trek around the rice fields and villages. He was a wonderful guide and very friendly. We have had very friendly staff where ever we have been in the resort. The Spa was very relaxing, the food amazing ( well lead by Kath ) and the atmosphere relaxing. A must do is the trek and the cooking class by Wayan. A fabulous family holiday. Thoroughly recommend you to stay at this place.

Room Tip: Superior Garden villas are very good for a family. Ask to have then next to each other. The pools ar...

Maya is a gem in the rainforest of Ubud. What makes this hotel is it's tranquil setting by the river and rice fields. The spa was a highlight with it's treatment rooms suspended on the hill overlooking the Petanu River. It was disappointing the hotels main pool was closed for repairs but maintenance needs to be done! The villa was lovely although very musty in smell. The service is what let down the hotel particularly poolside and in the bar. Given the hotel had low occupancy staff should have been more attentive to guests. This applied to ordering food and drinks and clearing away dirty dishes. Other than that, staff were friendly and welcoming.

As you know, ubud very famous with art, near the resort you can find a tiny shops ,that sell artcrafts... Painting, home accessories, clothes and many more. Every 20 minutes, the resort provide shuttle bus to take the guest to this place.

Room architecture quite traditional, if you stay in the villa, you can see the view many trees from the balcony at 2nd floor and you also can hear the running water from the famous river in Bali.

Everythings soo perfect in here, but one thing you should know, need about 1 half or 2 hours from ngurah rai airport to come to ubud.

Maya ubud is a sprawling resort in a lush green setting. The spa is a gem as the spa huts are set close to a river. As you enjoy ur massage session, u can hear the sound of nature in the rush of the river, the chirping of the birds... Its a great experience! The freeform pool perched atop the hill next to the river is wonderful, and you must dine at the restaurant next to the spa as the food is delicious and well presented.
Don't worry about the resort being too secluded as there is a regular shuttle that takes u to Ubud village for the shopping and to Monkey Forest. Trust me. You won't want to spend too much time away from the resort anyway.. we had happy hour cocktails at the lounge for pre dinner drinks. Plenty to do around the resort - there are yoga sessions in the morning, a few hiking trails along the river, padi fields to explore and also cycling expeditions. Great place to go for stressed out and burned out city dwellers. Seriously thinking of making this a once a year retreat destination... maya ubud- i will visit again!

We are just checking out of the Maya resort to continue our journey through Bali. We have been here for a week and have thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere that has been created. We were a little apprehensive due to the main pool being closed for renovations, however the spa pool was magnificent, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, over looking the river. There was nothing better than sitting at the pool listening to the river cascade over the rocks below, totally engulfed by the hillside that surrounded the spa area of the resort. Did not miss the main pool at all.
The staff were great and provided top service, always with a smile. We stayed in the hotel section of the resort over looking the rice fields and the river. Sitting on the balcony was relaxing, especially at night when you could watch the fireflies in the river beds and rice fields. The rooms themselves were comfortable and roomy, all be it a little dated. Needs a fresh paint and cleaner light fittings.
Went on the nature walk which was great except some of the steps were qiute slippey, no good for my dickie knee. All in all the stay was just what we needed, relaxation. We will miss watching the ducks go to work in the rice fields, the fireflies flying by us on the balcony and watching the giant spider spin her web only to start again when the rain came. The resort took us to were we needed to be, enjoying the simple things.

Other great things about Maya.
* shuttle to main shopping area ever hour 9 - 5
* afternoon tea
* fruit in room daily, sometimes an afternoon snack was delivered.
* spa is to die for!!! A must do at least once.
Thank you Maya!
