I had stayed for 3 days.
Located in middle of Ubud village forest, it has natural surroundings and beautiful calm forest.
Dynamic landscape with riverside spa facilities ,pool and cozy area.

Found it little boring due to peace and silence.
Very low in terms of food varities and quality of service. Experienced water Leakage in room and shifted rooms....

Personally i would recommened a NO if you are party person. Better opt for a good hotel in Market place which would count cheaper too...

Review:
Silent Ambience, forest & nature crazy place, too bad food, average service,
Not worth on cost spend......

Room Tip: Better opt for a hotel located in beautiful Ubud central market. Hire a vechicle (2/4 wheeler) and...

I recall this is how Nehru described Ubud many years ago. Even if I have got that wrong, Maya Ubud stands out as a beacon of that implied paradise. The setting was endlessly breathtaking. We stayed in a rice paddy view villa with plunge pool. We loved the traditional style of the place. Everything was beautifully arranged and the staff were beyond being merely competent and pleasant. They were charming, helpful and good humoured in fine Balinese tradition. We ate at the restaurants almost everyday, alternating lunch and dinner in nearby Ubud and rated Maya's offerings as excellent, if somewhat pricier than the town options. Breakfast was included and every taste was catered for in an excellent buffet. We attended an alfresco dinner and Legong dance performance and found it magical and a perfect setting. If you like the idea of a rest, the odd shuttle trip to town, access to yoga classes, comfort and superb grounds, and genuinely attentive staff, go there. We stayed seven nights (on a discounted package) and will definitely return.

This hotel is beautiful. The hotel is set amongst a forest in the mountains of Ubud, with sensational facilities that will compete with any hotel in Bali. The rooms were nice, not particularly fancy but very comfortable and clean.

What makes this hotel most special is it's location. It's up high in the trees and it has a glorious view overlooking the forest. Lush well kept gardens and an outstanding pool. This is what you can expect in Ubud in any good hotel.

I would have given this hotel a five star rating, if not for the rude arrival we received. Apparently, our driver had an accident on the way to our pick up spot, leaving us 3-4 hours late for our trip to the hotel. That actually ruined most of the first day of our stay.

I can fully understand if this is the case, but no phone call was made to inform us that our driver would be that late. In addition, when we requested some kind of compensation, the staff refused to offer us anything. Very sad.

It's a shame because now I reflect on our stay over a year ago, this resort is a 5 star but the service taints the experience.

We needed a short break from work and booked Maya Resort upon an Indonesian friend 's recommendation. It was simply heavenly. The resort alto a little distance away from central Ubud was just what we needed, a peaceful and relaxing place to rejuvenate. The entire resort was well laid out with greenery all around and sufficient facilities to keep us occupied. The morning yoga lessons were great. The instructors were very professional and gentle. The breakfast spread was very good too, in terms of variety and quality. The staff at the resort were warm and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. A perfect place for relaxation. We plan to go back again soon

We recently stayed at the Maya Ubud resort for 5 nights at the start of our Bali holiday. The hotel itself is stunning with beautiful gardens , infinity pool etc . There appears to be a mixture of rooms in 2 main blocks and individual Villas set in rows through the gardens . The hotel rooms have very good decor , and has all the amenities you would expect with this standard of hotel . Our only slight criticism is that there is a slight dark gloomy feeling of a Motel with the way the rooms are set out along long corridors , with a small outside terrace that is pretty pointless as you cannot really sit out and admire the views as they are surrounded by plants and trees. Some of the rooms on the upper floors have balconies with, I would imagine , good views
The breakfast buffet is fantastic catering for virtually every taste, the surroundings and service in the restaurant are again excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming , and love to chat .
The pool areas have very limited sunbathing areas. With the infinity pool only having 8 loungers that catch the sun all day ,the opposite side is virtually in the shade all day . So if you are a sun worshipper you had better get yourself down to the pool early. The lack of sunbed and sunny terraces was our main disappointment, for a hotel the size of the Maya Ubud , it seems ridiculous to offer so little in the way of sunbathing facilities. The pool itself is stunning overlooking the valley and the surrounding jungle. You feel you are literally in paradise.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Ubud down a small twisty road, making it a little difficult to get to the centre of Ubud itself . The hotel runs an hourly courtesy bus ,on the hour untill 5pm. After this time you have to resort to taxis ,to and from the hotel, as walking along the road , especially in the dark , is not advisable.
We also felt that the hotel lacked atmosphere in the evening as most people seem to venture out, to the very good and very cheap restaurants in Ubud. I think the hotel needs to look closely at the prices they charge in their restaurant and whats on offer to their guests to ensure that the hotel maintains a feelgood evening vibe.
Although our review is somewhat mixed we would happily consider staying at Maya again , and would recommend it to others . But in our opinion ,with some small tweaks and changes the hotel could be fabulous .

Amazing place to stay. The spa is situated just by the Petanu River - great spot to have a picnic lunch as well. There are trees all over the place planted by guests of the hotel, complete with little notes. My room looked out into a working paddy field and I was greeted with serene views every morning. The infinity pool is set amongst lush jungle settings, just by the river. An incredible resort, where you can feel at one with nature. Perfect for a rejuvenating retreat.

Our second stay at Maya Ubud and we had the best 4 days stay !!! We booked the Garden Villa which comes with your private entrance and a little backyard facing a little ravine and a rice field. The villa was well maintained, private, clean and styled in traditional balinese. All you could hear at night was the sound of nature, fireflies flying about, and the sound of chanting in the distance. It was so peaceful
Impeccable service with attention to detail. The staff were always friendly and made us feel like we were at home at all time. Our request for a late check out was accommodated generously to 3PM.
All the facilities are first class, two infinity pools, one perched on the hill near the restaurant, and the other down by the river with magnificent view of Petanu River. Restaurants, gym, and free shuttle to Ubud. There's always something to do if you don't want to leave the comfort of the resort. Nature walk, yoga classes, pilates to name a few. Considering the number of rooms the resort has in the main wing, you'd feel like you have the place to yourself because of the vast ground which is beautifully tended
It was hard to leave, and we would have extended our stay for a couple more nights if we didn't have appointments with friends in Legian.
We will be back again and stay longer next time
