We have visited this establishment on numerous occasions and again visited a week or so ago for Sunday lunch... Making the most of the lovely weather, we sat outside with our two dogs.. over looking the river. As usual the food was superb, extremely tasty and well presented. The food was again excellent value for money too.... The waitresses were very polite and friendly and the lady behind the bar (Elaine) was lovely and welcoming. I can not praise this establishment enough and we look forward to many more visits!! Well done everyone and of course, compliments to the chef!!

Too late!

Starter welded to plate with dryness, obviously prepared in advance, however this pre-preparation didn't help with the delivery of the meal that was so slow. Other tables had left before hand refusing to pay due to poor food and slow service. Deserts served in full view of our table on the cashier table balanced over the table orders and other paperwork, not ideal and potentially not very hygienic.

Lovely location good for a drink on a riverside walk.

All this and you can get to The Ship Inn via the Severn Valley Railway! The Sunday carvery was excellent - probably the best I have ever had. Tasted like all local ingredients. We will be back

Well worth the wait on a sunny afternoon for good hearty food with a great view. If you are a fan of stream trains, it's perfect!

Some friends visited & said how good it was. As we were planning to journey on the Severn Valley Railway to the engine house we decided to call in.

It was a very warm day and we followed the roadway from the engine house (mistake, see end) so we were very warm when we arrived at the Ship. Many people were already sitting out enjoying their meal or drinks, but we decided to sit inside where it was cooler. The decorations were very pleasant and the tables very large.

You order at the bar with your table number. We had been told about the size of the fish but assumed a large amount of exaggeration, but no it was enormous.Freshly cooked in beer batter with chip & mushy peas. I live my fish & chips but I struggled to eat it all - I persevered. Although the pub was busy we only had to wait 10-15 minutes to be served.

The only down side for us - after managing such a large meal we had no more room to try a desert plus we still had to climb the hill back to the railway station. By this time we had discovered the path from the rear of the Ship to the platform.

When next we are in the area we shall return, in fact we will probably make a special journey just to return.
