Great place to take your time and walk the trails. If you enjoy peace and quiet while taking in natures beauty, this is the place to go. Enjoy special educational talks that are present from time to time.

“Prairie along Oregon Trail”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2012

Preserved prairie land with rolling hills, ponds, natural habitat, birds and animals including huge frogs. The ruts from the covered wagons are visible on one of the many trails. Reminded us of Little House on the Prairie but made us realize what a difficult time they had traveling through this land. Well worth visiting; the center has lots of information, maps and a small gift shop.

“A fabulous way to enjoy nature”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2012

Great nature reserve!! Several hiking trails, a pavilion with restrooms, and a pond. The two best features of this center are 1. The bird blind, and 2. Tim Williams, the onsite director. The bird blind is a small enclosure where people can sit behind a one way glass, enabling them to watch birds, squirrels, etc as they eat from several birdfeeders. The scenery behind the bird viewing is breathtaking, which greatly enhanced our enjoyment. Tim Williams is the reserves director. He was our tour guide today, and was a font of knowledge and enthusiasm. He got right down in the mud in a pond, and used a net to drag the bottom, then was able to identify for the kids all the pond life he'd just retrieved from the water. His excitement and love for his job is infectious; the kids can't wit to return.

If you want Tim to give you a tour, you'll need to set up your tour in advance. Otherwise, you are welcome during the posted hours to explore on your own, for a small fee. Well worth the small price to enjoy such a gem of a place :-)

“Very peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2012

It was a beautiful drive back to park. I enjoyed hiking the blue trail and sat for awhile at the pond and enjoyed the sun, birds, and breeze.

I didnt mind paying a fee as it cost money to keep up these parks and I found the experience very relaxing. The bird blind was great as well. Plan to visit again.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2012

If you like to walk in the countryside, this is a great place to do it. They charge a fee, but what is the big deal( $4), you spend more than that to do other things. It's very quiet and a nice change from being in town around all the cars and noise( and you learn a thing or two along the way.)
