My husband and I have two big travel rules. Not strict, but we try to stick to these rules whenever possible. The rules are: 1. sleep at independently-owned hotels, and 2. eat at locally-owned restaurants. Quite many times it is almost impossible to find good local businesses, so we had to stay at places such as Holiday Inn and Best Western. Independently-owned or not, when we doubt a hotel’s cleanness, we ask front desk staff if we can see a room before checking in.
When we checked in at Grand Rivers Inn, we didn’t need to ask to show us a room because we already saw good reviews on the Internet. Furthermore, the busy-looking, very kind owner with paint on her hair just gave us good feeling that this place is being well maintained. She said all rooms are 100% non-smoking and no pet. Yes! That’s the place we want. The room was very very strictly clean and smelled fresh. No dust and no spot anywhere. The bed looked new and was better than ours at home.
The outdoor hot tub and the swimming pool waters were crystal-clear. The hammocks around the swimming pool were very relaxing. Lovely humming birds were all around the swimming pool. I have never seen these many humming birds at once at one place. The location was also super. Pattie’s restaurant and Badgett Playhouse were in one minute on foot. It locates in the middle of the land where the two great big lakes meet. Both lakes were 3-5 minutes on foot. We really enjoyed walking between the lakes and Grand River’s Inn in early morning and at dark.
We will be back to Grand Rivers in Christmas time for Variety Show and Christmas lights and will definitely stay at Grand Rivers Inn again.

I've been coming to the area for the last 45 years and when I wanted to stay in Grand Rivers but couldn't stay at my (previous) favorite place we took rooms at the Grand Rivers Inn. FEAR NOT!!! Don't let the exterior and it's old-time quaint look fool you!!! VERRRRRRRY clean and super-friendly folks. Nice pool -especially for the kids. Best part?? You're right in the middle of everything that's going on in Grand Rivers and only a stone's throw from Patti's!!! Very reasonably priced also. Park at your unit. Stay here...and have a ball!!!!!

the grand rivers inn is the place me and my wife always stay at.
The rooms are not big time, but they are nice and ABOVE ALL
they are CLEAN. The lady that runs the place is very nice and will
help you with information you need. We have been going for about the last 4 years.
WE WILL GO BACK AGAIN !

Very clean! I was looking for a hotel that was close to canal campground where family were staying and didn't allow pets, and this was the closest place. I was a little reluctant to stay here because it looked older from the pictures I saw, but it is very clean. I would stay here again, if I go back to Land between the lakes...

We stayed at GR Inn because friends were staying at the canal campground up the road for convenience & location. our 1 bed room had a microwave, sm fridge & c. pot., shower no tub. 2 bed rooms were bigger & a little more expensive. They also had 2 & 3 bedroom little brick cottages. It looks like the hotel that your parents took you to in the late 60's on vacation. Family owned, friendly, very clean, cozy & quiet..Sm pool & nice hot tub. Located in the very heart of Grand Rivers. Anyone could walk to everything that they have to offer there. Whether you are breezing thru or ploping down for a couple of days, All & all it's a ok , very small & dated hotel & not fancy but it has been kept up over the years. If you want really fancy & have more time & money , like the water view , boating & etc. stay at the Green turtle bay, but get your pocketbook out. There is also the Lighthouse Landing , not as expensive as the Gr. turtle Bay. After 1 or 2 days at Gr. Rivers unless your planning to camp, fish or boat there is not much other to do. Of course there is Patti's settlement, putt putt, ice cream shop , antique store, Harley Davidson shop, & a grocery store & a comedy theater across the street from the hotel. There is Adventure River Waterpark in Eddyville & a almost abandoned outlit mall a few miles from there. The w. park is Pretty fun for the kids. This is a great weekend get away.
