The folks at Green Turtle were very nice and we ended up having a good time on a houseboat, but beware. They do not maintain or clean the boats very well. Worst of all, the steering fluid was so low that it was scary and rather dangerous to navigate until someone came to fix it. Other issues: roof canopy tarp was missing, hot water didn't work until someone came to fix it, stovetop never worked bc a circuit breaker down in a hatch under the sofa had tripped, and there was broken wood and exposed nailheads around the swim ladder area. They volunteered to give us a credit of about $225 to make things right. No satellite TV despite promise of same when I called. Clean inside, but not outside: grill had other people's food chunks/grease and there were dead bugs in spiderwebs all over exterior of boat (yes, you see spiders on the boat here and there). If you go, check EVERYTHING closely before you leave dock (once you're out on the lake, it's a pain to get repairs done), make them pressure wash the exterior, and maybe bring some Raid to spray around to kill spiders before they scare the females. Also, you'll need floats or rent a little tow-behind boat to get to shore/around/fish the shoreline. I might do this again someday because it was beautiful, relaxing, and fun. Just be prepared -- it's not a 5-star hotel.

Room Tip: This review is about houseboats only.

We have stayed here many times and each time was terrific. Some of the condos could use a little updating but they are always clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There are so many things to do not only on the resort but nearby. You could enjoy a week and never leave the resort. Indoor and outdoor pools, boat rentals, and great food. This is a premier resort and worth every penny you pay.

We went there for spring break in 2013. The only bad thing was it was really cold. There's a really nice indoor swimming pool workout area and spa. I would recommend going in the summer because it's a lot more to do there at Green Turtle Bay. I love the shops in the little town and I love pattys settlement restaurant even though it was pricey it was delicious. There was even some nearby zip lining. And we got to drive through a national park with Buffalo and elk that was cool.

This was our first experience at renting a condo and what a way to start. Our unit, 112, was fabulous. So nicely furnished, comfortable queen beds and just a marvelous view of the marina and lake. Being the winter season it was great to have a nice gas fire place. Nice quiet area and what a treat to be taking a walk one evening and to be joined by four white tailed deer. Look forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: As mentioned above we just loved unit 112

The resort is nice, nothing exciting. It looks better on the internet than in real life. The marina was a real disappointment and they tacked on a bunch of extra charges at the end which we fought but couldn't get removed from the bill. Find another way to rent a boat! We ended up staying at Lighthouse Landing instead which was very nice.

We rented one of the one bedroom condos and our balcony and all it's gorgeous windows looked right out over the boats and the lake. There was everything you could need in the condo. A fireplace, great air conditioning, a dishwasher, good fridge and freezer, micro, coffee pot, washer and dryer, trash compacter, a gas grill right outside. The pool was maybe 6 steps away. There are lots of pretty walks to take and places to eat if you don't feel like cooking. There is tennis, a small putting green, boat rental (fabulous), even a spa. The staff was always friendly. And one of the condos is "pet friendly" which we stayed in. It was clean and nice. Great place to stay for a weekend or a week or a month...well, you get my drift...

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for the "pet friendly" condo when inquiring about the one bedrooms.

We love going to Green Turtle Bay! We have rented both the one bedroom and the two bedroom condo on the bay, which is our favorite place in the resort. Our last trip there we had a two bedroom that had a screened in porch with the deck overlooking the water. We were not as close to the water as we would have liked, but still good. We loved sitting in the screened in portion of the deck. We grilled out one night and ate out there, very peaceful. The condo we had was #312. It also had downstairs and upstairs walk-in showers with handicap seats and rails. This was great for my mother, who had hip surgery about a year ago. It had two king size beds upstairs and downstairs. The rooms were large and decorated very nicely. The only downside I had was when making reservations, the lady I spoke with (Mary) put me on hold several times and then twice asked me to call back because she was busy. This really gave me a bad taste staff wise, but I still like the place. Wish the prices were not so high, so we could go more often.
