Description: The Old Stone Farmhouse is an award winning, fine dining restaurant. Set in a wooded valley close to the 11th hole of the Mahogany Run Golf Course, this restaurant is located in a 200 year old restored field house on the lush countryside of St. Thomas. It was created as a stable for a nearby Danish sugar plantation, and the walls are more than 2 feet thick. Ceiling fans and breezes blowing through the valley keep the place cool. The building's distinctive character is shown with native stone walls, original hardwood floors, brick arches, and a charming covered palm-lined courtyard. The restaurant features "Chef Inspired" fine dining in an intimate and elegant atmosphere. The cuisine is ingredient driven and will change with each season. The Old Stone Farmhouse is one of the most romantic and elegant dinner settings anywhere, offering old-world charm and a second-to-none dining experience. Personalized attention makes dining here a delight.

Our recent evening at the "transformed" Old Stone Farmhouse was absolutely FANTASTIC! As residents, we've dined at the Old Stone Farmhouse many times over the years. We've always loved the ambiance, lovely dining room and huge wine selection. But, some how the eclectic/changing menus, so-so service and variable food preparation never quite measured up to the setting. Well, now all of this has changed and we were completely "WOW-ed" by our experience.. We can only rave about the food and the new concept of creating dinner anyway that you want it--from an outstanding selection of high quality meats and seafoods flown in from around the world. You actually have the opportunity to visit the kitchen and see the chef in action and learn a bit about the foods that are being served on the evening that you dine. There is a really nice selection of starters/salads from which to choose. Then you decide which entree [or combination of entrees] you would like and the portion size. I started with a wonderful lobster polenta with osso bucco [sounds unusual...but it works!] followed by a 1/2 portion of sea bass from Italy and a beautiful, perfectly cooked 4 oz filet. My husband started with the E'scargot with garlic butter, followed by a 1/2 portion of lobster and a 1/2 potion of the sea bass. We both raved about everything!
The Old Stone Farmhouse has truly found it's niche and brings a new, creative meaning to "having it your way"! Whether a visitor or a resident, you will want to be sure to experience an evening at the Old Stone Farmhouse. It's not to be missed!

Was a little reluctant because my husband and I went with our infant child, the resturant is known to be one of the most romantic places to eat on island, but staff was very welcoming to the three of us. The menu is specialized with daily changes. The resturants unique character allows you to meet the chef in the kitchen. Which is a nice twist to normal dining. The food was excellent and worth every penny. We finished the night with a desert where we had the option of remaining where we sat for dinner or relocating to the terrace. We decided to go outdoors. The desert menu wasn't very impressive, so we just had ice cream. Overall can't wait to go back!

Exquisite setting, excellent food - enjoyed the trip to the kitchen, signed the wall - where we selected our choice from surf and turf options. Choose as many as you like, ounces - I had 3 oz filet, 2 ozs kangaroo (yes), 1 Thai scallop, several large shrimp. My husband selected the filet and kangaroo and 1/2 of a sea bass flown in from Italy which he said melted in your mouth.
We all had an appetizer - mine was shrimp and a crab spring roll with wasabi. We enjoyed the palate cleansers between each offering - not your usual rainbow sherbet - all unusual and tasted great. I'd still give it 5 stars but they need to look at their dessert menu. I had an Oregon Chai Tea Creme Brulle - yes a step too far on this usually pleasant dish. The chai flavoring was a hard candy topping and the brulle was not firm underneath. The others in our party enjoyed Bananas Foster (not served flaming but that may be local regs) - and a lemon cheesecake springroll.
It is worth the expensive price - you will not be sorry to include this restaurant on your stay in St. Thomas

We went to St.Thomas for fine dining. This was outstanding. I loved that we were invited to go to the kitchen and talk with the chef. He gave us a "tour" of our choices, all of which were fresh and interesting. We chose the lobster, kangaroo, scallops, lamb, and filet mignon. Everything was excellent. It was pricey, but worth every penny.

The Old Stone Farmhouse was recommended to us my several people and it did not disappoint. The building itself reminded us of something you might see in a small Euopean village. It appared to be quite old and had a lot of charm. After hearing about the specials, we were invited to visit the kitchen where we had a chance to look at the seafood and meats and hear about their origins, how they would be prepared, etc. You are able to order combinations of their seafood and meat specials if you'd like. It incluced two kinds of fish (one flown in from Italy and one local), scallops, Maine lobster, filet mignon, kangaroo and boar. Between me and my husband, we tried several different things - all were very, very good. They had a musician playing in the courtyard, so we opted to have dessert there. I had the creme brulee which was fantastic and my husband had the lemon cheesecake spring roll, which was excellent. Our service was very good. And it wasn't as expensive as we thought it was going to be. I'd highly recommend dining here. You won't regret it.
