We stayed in the Farm Deacon's Suite. For $160 a night we got two rooms upstairs with a bathroom that connected them. The one side had the bed and two chairs and the other side had a couch, chairs, dining table and chairs, fridge, and microwave. It was a great room and the property was beautiful in the evening. We know there were other people staying there but we didn't see any of them as we strolled around the village at dusk. The food in the restaurant was very good and I particularly liked that it started with a bowl of carrots, celery, spring onions, pickles, green and black olives, and pickled orca and baby corn. It was a very nice alternative to a tired salad. The tour the next day was also very interested. This was definitely one of the best stops on our trip.

The rooms are up to date and very clean and quiet. Our room was very large with 2 rocking chairs. The beds were kind of lumpy, but it keeps in with the theme of the village from the 1800's
The food in the restaurant was also very good.

It had been 20 years since I had been back to the Shaker Village. I was so thankful to find it as rustic and simple as I remembered. Nothing seemed to have changed. I loved showing my wife around one of my favorite places to go on field trips as a kid. Broom making, quilting, husbandry and history. It was my first time to stay in one of the rooms. I had to remind my wife that this was not a resort... we were experiencing history... where else would you get a hand made rocking chair in your room. It was a fun experience, the food was awesome and the visit down memory lane was memorable.

I had been to Pleasant Hill years ago for a dinner and a little bit of a tour, and was pleased to show it to my husband. We stayed in the main building (Trustees' office) and thought the accommodations were very comfortable and good. Our room was large and furnished in keeping with the Shakers (quite plain) but certainly had all the amenities.

The restaurant serves delicious food, and we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast there. On the night we were in our room, there was an outdoor function on the lawn, complete with a loud band, which made for a rather noisy evening. Thankfully there was some rain, which interrupted the band temporarily. That was our only complaint.

Wife and I went with our Church Group and spent one night there. Had breakfast and dinner there and the meals were wonderful. Excellent staff catered to all of our needs. We stayed in the East building overnight and it was very nice. The tour and paddle boat ride on the Kentucky River they provided for us was great. Our group consisted of 20 people.

Shaker Village has excellent rooms in a beautiful, rural, historic setting. We had family visiting and found it to be an educational multi generational family atmosphere. Food in the restaurant was very good but the menu is limited and expensive.

This is a very well maintained village and quite educational and interesting. The staff was very engaging and interested in making it enjoyable for their visitors. The only drawback was it wasn't as interactive as I would have liked for our kids (ages 5 to 13). But, they still learned a lot. The river boat tour was nice, too.
