The three highlights of our stay would have to be the friendly and helpful staff, the beautiful grounds and the tasty breakfast. The location is great to visit multiple distilleries as well as Lexington. We also especially enjoyed having several dining options on sight. It was relaxing to spend evenings at the Owl's Nest cheating with the owner, bar tenders, and enjoying the extensive Bourbon selection. All the food, from the breakfast, main dining hall for dinner, or the pubs was very tasty--so many meals taste like old family recipes! We love walking the grounds which were so well maintained to watching the lightning bugs and take in the simplicity and friendly-family feeling of Kentucky. We definitely got the small town feeling of a simpler life we were looking for! Only downfall is not having one more day after doing Bourbon trail to relax and enjoy the Inn more.

Several aspects of my review:
Bourbon Tasting with Dixon - this was a fantastic experience. I am not a bourbon drinker - in fact, bourbon made me shudder before this experience but, I had planned the weekend for my husband (who enjoys a variety of bourbons). I fully expected to sit there bored and give all of my tastings to my husband. However, Dixon spent plenty of time talking with us and then, explaining the differences of the bourbons. He explained where I should taste the bourbon on my palette, etc. Much to my husbands dismay, I fully enjoyed and drank 4 of the 6 tastings! We did the premium tasting and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Old Owl Tavern - delicious meals (we went 2 nights in a row) for a great price with friendly service. The ribs were just delicious. Everything was fresh and homemade and very flavorful. Highly recommend eating there! We had considered eating at the Inn restaurant but, it requires pants for the evenings for men and the weather was just too nice to dress up.

We enjoyed our stay at the Beaumont. It is a very old building so, it is what you would expect - creaky floors, pipes squeaking but, they have done a great job of modernizing and ensuring a comfortable stay. Our bed was very comfortable with nice, new bedding. The shower had good pressure with a new shower head that created a nice "rainshower" effect with a curved shower curtain. (they made the most of an old bathtub shower!)

The gift shop is super cute with several unique items. and...don't miss the delicious cornmeal pancakes for breakfast.

I was concerned that the location wasn't great for the bourbon trail but, it was just perfect! We did Jim Beam and Makers Mark on 1 day, then enjoyed our Dixon tasting; then, Buffalo Trace Woodford Reserve and 4 Roses the 2nd day. The Beaumont was located perfectly in between and was enjoyable to get back to for the evening. Overall, a great experience.

Room Tip: We didn't get to see other rooms to know how they would compare.

Step back in time to enjoy a beautiful culture. The Inn is amazing, from arrival to departure, every need was addressed before we knew it was a need. The rooms in the main house are very spacious and very clean...just walking the halls is a treat. The walking trail was an added treat that allowed us to explore the grounds during this perfect weather weekend. If you only add one item, be sure you schedule a tasting session with Dixon! We will be returning in October, asking for the same room, eating in the Owl's Next, visiting with Dixon and visiting the Perryville Park. As we were here on a history/family mission we could not visit everything of interest, but we hear that the wine tour and the bourbon tours are worth your time when visiting. Every face we encountered was smiling...love the hospitality. Thank you.

Very comfortable, quiet, clean inn with a lot of character. We've stayed here a number of times over the years but this was our first visit in about 6 years. It is not the typical hotel but has all the amenities you shouold need. There are several buildings but we prefer to be in the main building. Room comes with a very complete breakfastntry breakfast.

Room Tip: The dining room is closed on Sunday nights. And the third floor of the main inn is extremely quiet...

The Beaumont Inn is one of our favorite places in the Bluegrass. Management dedication has resulted in fine food and a great breakfast (available only to lodgers). The grounds are pretty and immaculate. Hospitality is what drives the staff. But a recent stay found the Beaumont wanting. The main building of the three buildings with rooms was built in 1845. It is a glorious antebellum structure fitted out with antiques and art. But sometimes history can get in the way of comfort. Remember that a night at the Beaumont costs around $150 (that includes breakfast). So, should a lodger have to deal with a shower that is incapable of regulation? I spent many morning minutes adjusting the faucet handles trying to avoid scalding-hot water and frigid water. It was one or the other. I assumed the boiler wasn’t sending up enough hot water to temper the cold. But when there was plenty of hot water, the cold couldn’t moderate the hot. Very unpleasant. It didn’t help that the shower nozzle (one of those intended to save on water) appeared to be clogged with lime deposits and attempts to adjust the spray caused the water pipe to move back and forth in the wall. Disconcerting. I question the practice of putting wallpaper in bathrooms, and in this one the paper was bubbling. As for the air conditioning, there was only one way to regulate it: a stick hanging next to the door that allows you to close the vent. Quaint, but … Also interesting was the closet extension-cord electrical system powering the lamps. At these prices, one expects more.

Thank you for your kind words about our family-owned property of the past 95 years. We have noted all your comments concerning your visit with us and have, as in all reviews, shared the applause with our wonderful staff as well as any concerns. The "easy fix" concerns such as clogged shower head, missing shower head anchor, bubbled wallpaper and water temperature (circulating pump) have all been addressed with housekeeping and maintenance staff. Sorry for the inconvenience of all. As to the Main Inn's individually thermostated guestroom AC system as well as the number of electrical plugs available in each guestroom, these have been a bit of a challenge over the years. We have made much progress with the electrical outlets having added several new outlets in some guestrooms over the past few years. Unfortunately, have not completed this task in all rooms. A new individually controlled guestroom HVAC system for Goddard Hall was installed last winter. The Main Inn guestrooms are a much larger challenge as you might expect because of the solid brick wall construction and cost of the engineering and adaptation.

Beautiful grounds & facilities with subtle grace.

Rooms are clean, comfortable & most restful. Unfortunately we only had one night we could stay, but will certainly be returning.

The pub in main building is wonderful & breakfast is great.

We stayed at the Beaumont Inn over Memorial Day and truly enjoyed the charm and history. Our room was lovely! Best sleep I had on the trip. Bed a bit high even for 5 foot 8 me but it was soooo comfortable (we stayed in Graystone). Place was neat as a pin. Really nice people. Gave me a discount unasked for because their restaurant not open on holiday and booked our meal at Shaker place which was a nice experience. Beaumont Inn was so quaint and relaxing. I'd go back!!!!!

Room Tip: I'm betting any room nice but we stayed in Greystone. However, no elevator but Cody nice young...
